Takeoff Config Question

Featured Replies

After following the checklist I am still getting a red warning light/beep on takeoff and the "config" light is the only thing lit on the panel. The instant the wheels leave the ground the lights go off. Obviously I am missing something but at this point don't have a clue. If anyone else has been through this and can help it will be greatly appreciated. In the meantime I will go through the checklist again CAREFULLY.

Bet you forgot to arm your spoilers. (Or your parking brakes are on when you do the test)

First parts should be ready by the end of the month I think. I will post them up here when they are.

And Gust lock is off but I imagine that is the case otherwise taking off wouldn't go so well. Also just as a heads up APR "on" isn't required.

Are you using button or voice FS2C? I know the voice version accepts 'armed' or 'off' responses when you're prompted during the call items of the checklist. As far as what you wrote, you should be turning the APR OFF for the after takeoff check (or confirming it off). If you are using reduced torque takeoffs, you should not be using APR. If icing conditions exist, or you are using standard torque settings for the existing conditions, APR should be used. That's the general gist of the AOM, as I understand it. Unfortunately the Airport Analysis tables are not included in Chapter 7 of the AOM, which would give you a better picture of when to use it.Kyle

Sorry I meant after start checklist. Was half asleep this morning.I'm using the voice edition. I set it to armed as well as the spoilers during the after start flow and give the armed response when the fo asks during the check. The fs2crew voice will also respond to set for the apr. Great addon for the jetstream for sure.

Half of me wondered if you'd just mistyped that.On that note, though, again, you only need to use it for icing and rated torque takeoffs. Longer runways where you can step the torque down don't require it. When Robert frees up time after the NGX, maybe he can elaborate on certain questions I have - APR, being one of them.FS2C responds to SET for just about anything, luckily. Sometimes, if there is too much background noise, it won't pick up on the longer items ("Are you ready for the approach brief?"), so I just say 'set', get chastized ("Are you sure? Approach brief?"), say 'set' again, and continue on with the checklist. I hate it, but sometimes if it doesn't pick up on it, or mistakes it for something else, I just have to deal with it.Kyle

I still do not know why the "Config" light was on but finally it is not coming on. The only item that i know I was missing before was turning on Cabin Lights but can't believe that would cause a red light. Oh well, everything good now.

The thing that was causing mine when i first got it was my props were not getting to 100% pitch. They would get to about 99 and then i use the mouse to move them the rest of the way up. I have removed my dead zones on my throttle quad but still cant get the 100% so its just something i have decided to live with. Hope this helps you out.
