NGX Liveries?

Featured Replies

I was just wondering what liveries will be available upon release? Will there be a Ryanair livery?thanks,Luke Brown

No one can tell you that except the developers and I am not sure they will answer that question yet! However, they have stated that they would do all of the major carriers so I am betting it will be done. You did ask nicely maybe you will get an official answer. :(

Personally I think Ryan "Tabs" should do his own take on a "Ryanair". Perhaps one with a guitar along the fuse or something :(

Same here, I'm exteremely new to it, but will give it a go round. Dan's tutorial was quite helpful. With two kids and a job that keeps me on the road, I'm not sure when I'll find the time to do it though. In any case Caribbean Airlines will most likely be my first stab at repaining and if it doesn't work out...may I humbly place an early request? :(

"The aircraft G-limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular airplane. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no G-limits."

Thanks Dylan, glad the tutorial is working ok. Just heads up though, somehow it got a little trashed and need to restore my backup. It still has the same info I think, but the bullets are gone and some things now read into the next making it a little on the messy side to me. Also some links are broken (not due to the way I wrote them) and little things are messed up like the code box for the aircraft.cfg.Anyway, I hope I get an answer sometime soon on getting it fixed the way I originally had it and hope it continues to help.

I'm gonna take this thread slightly off-topic - I've asked this question in the past and RSR has acknowledge his own displeasure for the same, but had yet to find a suiteable solution. A year or two later, I'm inclinded to ask the question again:When the NGX hits the streets, will we finally get a real PMDG livery installation manager that does not fill up (use) our Windows Add/Remove GUI, listing every PMDG repaint ever intstalled? You have put every once of effort in the NGX, that much is clear - I hope this is issue gets a little of that attention as well.:(

Personally I think I would prefer to have them as a zip file manual install, but I think the executable method helps those that don't want to touch the aircraft.cfg. One thing I know some people don't do is backup their aircraft folder. This is cool to do so if you ever reinstall because then you can just copy the whole folder and paste it back into place and be done with it and not have anything in your add/remove programs at all.One thing you could do if you want to clean things up, copy your aircraft folder and paste it somewhere, then go thru the process of uninstalling each livery (all liveries), then just put your copy back in place, done. I know this doesn't really address your question but it's a good work around for those that want a nice and neat control panel.

I have done the copy and restore trick in the past as well and other times, I just sit there in hit click-next, click-next, click-next until my finger starts to bleed.. :( What I really envision and propose is something like the Level-D livery manager, which is a seperate utility and you can check all the liveries you want to install and you're done - no muss, no fuss. Perhaps a way to tell the official PMDG liveries from the 3rd-party liveries, from within the same GUI would be of benefit as well. Those guys (Level-D) really did do this part right.:(
