October 9, 200322 yr G'day GuysAfer going through the normal ATI cleaning routine which takes quite a bit of time i am glad to say its well worth the effort. At flightsofts Kaitak in the Capt sim 727 i got a boost of 4-7fps up from 16 to 21-23fps on the rwy 31 threshold.Big increase and i am pretty stoked with the boost.I can live with the flickering menu's if it means an FPS increase like this one. Also noticed its very smooth now with a heavy scenery load.Great job to the guys at ATI.Go get em!!
October 9, 200322 yr Yep, they're very good. I notice an improvement in windowed mode too. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
October 9, 200322 yr Hi Darren,When you refer to the the "ATI cleaning routine", is this the same routine as posted here by Mike Adamo(sp?) ?Thanks,Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
October 9, 200322 yr I'd assume so, Bruce. I tired it earlier, and it did take a while. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
October 9, 200322 yr Can you guys post a link so the rest of us can learn how to properly clean out the old drivers??? FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
October 9, 200322 yr If you installed new drivers you have that utility installed C: Program FilesATIUn-install(or something like that), just open folder and run exe file.
October 9, 200322 yr Search on Mike Adamo, post made in the past day or so.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
October 9, 200322 yr The same thing has happend for me. I am getting an average of 10fps better tahn before. Even in much more fps demanding aircraft. I am using an ATI 7000 Radeon 64 VE. Thanks ATI!!!
October 9, 200322 yr The new default settings seem faster, but also appear to turn down quality options. Go into drivers display/advanced and set custom AA, etc. After, I found them similar, seemed to freeze when panning at times.
October 9, 200322 yr Hey Guys,I posted the link to the instructions on how to "manually" remove drivers in the "Read Me First" thread at the top of the forum.Have fun!!Mikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg
October 9, 200322 yr Though ATi fixed the garbled text problem, I'm somewhat disgruntled the blackflashing menus aren't fixed. In the release notes they claimed to have fixed menu "flipping" which I thought was this same issue (thinking maybe "flipping" was driver-ese for flashing), but apparently it isn't.
October 10, 200322 yr Hi BruceYea i use a similar routine but do the registry clean using regedit.I don't like small programs going into my registry and prefer to do it by hand.Takes about 15mins.At least you know you get everything with ATI on it.Enjoy the drivers.
