October 12, 200322 yr Rob & Sean,Thanks ever so much for a real flyable cessna. Very realistic. Question on spins. I have the realism general setting extreme right and auto rudder off as with all my aircraft. When I stall and enter the spin (right rudder) I can see the rotation from the cockpit and the compass rose verifies the spins, however when I look from the outside the plane doesnt seem to spin. It appears to be just descending sideways nose first but no rotation. Hope I described it correctly :-)Because of this I am wondering if I am doing it incorrectly:From straight and level 3000ft, power off, stall, full right rudder, neutral aileron, and the rotation starts (cockpit view). After 1000ft center rudder, rotation stops, apply power back pressure and level off.I have not done a spin in real life for many years (inactive PPL), but I thought that would be close to how its done.Any tips, suggestions greatly appreciated. No to go do some loopsThanks again fellas a well done job. :-beerchugBill
October 12, 200322 yr Don't mean to be Picky Rob.. butI have a serious issue with this aircraft...As I approach the runway... say.. I am like 10-20 feet off the ground..and I add a little power to soften the landing... It speeds ahead into the ground and crashes..In a landing configurationm Powering up should add altitude..not speed up.Thats a big Flaw... or am I doing something wrong?.. In the real C172.. thats what I do to soften up a landing. A Flair and slight Powerup. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 12, 200322 yr See my reply to this question in the "other" column. I guess you ARE doing something wrong! I see NO flaw at all, in this regard; as my flight.... from adding power, was still very controlled until I pulled it and let the plane settle to the runway. L.Adamson

October 12, 200322 yr Author HI Bill,This indicates that you are setting spot view with gradual transition. Am I right? In this mode the spot view is lagging behind the motion of the aircraft, and makes it look odd. To see the true motion in spot view, set spot view to FIXED and UNTICK the gradual transition box. Now you will see the spin motion from outside just as you saw inside.A couple of caveats, because of the excess influence of prop rotation in FS2002 and FS2004 on this manouevre, she will spin better to the left than to the right. Also setting winds higher than a light breeze can upset the motion, especially becuase the transition between wind layers is not very gradual.Cheers,Rob Young Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
October 12, 200322 yr Thanks a lot!!And I'm really looking forward to the Decathlon release :) It was my favourite plane in Fly2 and I'm sure you are going to top the standard this time also :)Johnny"I'LL BE BACK"[div align=center]http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/zone.jpg ][/div

Will give that a try. If you dont hear back all is well. Thread saving measure :-)Once again a gem to fly.CheersBill
October 12, 200322 yr RobI'm a noob to FS and of course am not nearly as familiar with the FS9 folders and files as are the old hands. This is my first addon and I had a few jitters before going ahead with it, but the install went without a hitch due to the straightforward and well thought out install instructions. Thanks to the entire team for a great plane and great work.
October 12, 200322 yr Rob,I promised not to get back unless there was a problem, but I just cannot resist. The left spin and the outside view tips worked like a charm. It looks amazing. I must also mention how well it trims out for straight and level. No up and down all over the place. This is one hell of a plane to fly.Again. Well done and I look forward to more of your work, and you just got a new customer and fan. Hope you can do some of the jets with such precision. Thanks again.Bill
