Thanks again *******, we are all very grateful for your hard work!
No prob. I'll help with your other questions, but not all today. I would suggest, for now that you download the last waterconstants.xml file I posted and please, read this entire thread, because you'll see clear instructions on how to change the reflections. take care! And yes... the performance gain is common but ONLY with ATI hardware. Anyway, the performance boost is massive, welcome to the World of Shader 3.0 for FSX

Hello *******; thanks for your efforts - I also got rid´of´grid now!But I have a problem: above about 1500 feet over water the wave animation stops (but starts again if I dive under that level...weird)I have FSX sp2 full bojote edition ("FSX sb2") and i7 gtx460 (260.99).Thank you !

Hi Marqui,That is happening because the water graphics go from LOW (altitude) to MID at 1500 ft. It will happen again at 10,000 ft when it goes from MID to HIGH. It's the settings found in the WaterConstants.Xml file.

Hi, *******. I'm enjoying using your mods and settings. You made my fs experience much better. Thank you.Well, posting here may be wrong, but can I say?I'm using an external fps limiter which disables the ENBSeries dll,but I think that fsx's graphics are too bright and smoggy(low contrast).I've just thought of an idea to control them by editing shader mod. What do you think about?I'm not an engineer, so I know nothing about it.If you have been displeased with this post, please just ignore.Thank you.

What do you think about?
Initially, my plan was to release new versions, but since the performance increase was '0' (using nVidia hardware) I decided not to. The Shader mod only benefits ATI users performance wise, for us nVidia users we only get water texture improvements and a very slight terrain improvement, nothing else. The terrain improvement is ONLY visible at distance (the far away terrain is more crisp)So to answer your question, no. Is not worth the effort. The shaders already passed the test of time and a lot of people is using them without any side effects apart from the ones already mentioned (fog when you see the earth using map view and lack of fog to effects such as smoke, niagara falls etc.) Lack of fog means than under zero visibility you stil see this effects in the distance.

@ FlyAndFighthello FlyAndFight,I also assumed that entries in the waterconstants.xml are responsible for that motion stopping over 1500 ft.Unfortunately, I couldn´t even find the numbers "1500" somewhere in that file - so how to fix it?Btw; I saw that with a less moving wave animation it doesn´t stand out too much (especially with less "whitewater" in it).And...are others here with flickering-coast-mirror-reflections ?good flight, good night. :(

Thank you for your reply. And I'm sorry that my post caused a misunderstanding my intention.I mean that I want to correct the whole colors instead of [colorCORRECTION] of ENBSeries, not related to visibility or fog.

There is no hardcoded "1500" or other hights specified in waterconstants.xml, but if you look closely you'll see that the file is built using three different sections with identical structure. Those represent the LOW/MID/HIGH configuration. The LOW section has no special tag but for MID and HIGH you'll see that they start with the <Elevation>MID</Elevation> and <Elevation>HIGH</Elevation> tags. I have my MID section set to identical values as the LOW one. This way the waves look awesome even above 1500. I haven't noticed any performance penalty for doing this.

There is none. It basically changes the way water looks at altitude. Preferences vary from user to user so what might work for some look awful to others. Ideally, we need a 'water configurator' that can tweak that file based on user preference.

Hmm.. interesting. can you tell me 'exactly' what Video card you have? model/version and Drivers.Based on your report the 'only' explanation I have is either:1) You are using a BETA nvidia driver or a very old one2) You are using a non fully DX9c compliant video cardOther than that, no idea. I assume the installer worked fine right? do you have the latest June 2010 DirectX distribution? it can be downloaded here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=enAlso, what is your OS version?

Did you apply the optional 'tweaks' in the program folder? when you Install the shaders a Program group is created in your start menu, there you'll see an option to apply optional tweaks for your shaders. I would be interested in knowing if this solves your problem. Thanks,

Did you apply the optional 'tweaks' in the program folder: NO. Thank You. Michel.

Hi *******,First of all, excuse my poor english, and thank you very much for all your hard work, and the illusion that you gave me when I was near to delete definitely FSX from my hard drive, some months ago.I own a . I got all your great tweaks, and Shaders 3.0, and now the water constants. All works great with a Intel Q6600 Quad Core and 8 GB RAM DDR-2 667, and an ATI HD 5850 Vapor X (quite old processor, I know, but I'm thinking in a seriuos upgrade... any suggestion about Videocard?)Well, my problem is at night. I get the appearance that you can see in the picture: An horrible star reflection on the water, like white peas, that appears to be the stars reflected in the ocean, and the gray coloured water. This colour appears all the time, even if no moon is present.Any idea what can I do to solve this, specially the gray water, and get a darker one?I use REX 2.0Thanks in advance!
