November 11, 201015 yr hi,I had an old nvidia driver (197 something). I was pleased with what I got.I read on this forum that the 257.15 driver gives crisp textures. I installed it . Now I have crisp textures below my aircraft and blurred textures in front of it. it is awful. Any suggestions (I have nhancer with nick's settings).I am really fed up with this never inding tweaking circus. thank you My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
November 11, 201015 yr You could try going back to your old driver, using windoze roll back feature. November 11, 201015 yr New drivers will not work with nhancer.Give this a try...http://www.simforums.com/forums/nhancer-settings-for-new-drivers-updated-v1932_topic36586.htmlWorks great for me.Glen

The only thing is...and this is not a defect in the driver....is that the 260.99's give you outstanding, life-like water textures and effects, while the 257.15's give a 'base normal' look to all water bodies. With some tweaking in the cfg file, I got the 260.99's to give me 80 percent of the texture quality for land based textures of the 257:15's BUT...I have picked up eye-candy in the water on the planet, lol! With PNW and the Fjords, you want the best water that your system can produce! The 260.99's give the best of that to date. Again, for outstanding LAND BASED textures, it still is the 257.15 BETA driver suite. The 260.99's 'tweaked' let me live with the land textures as such.
November 12, 201015 yr Author Hi,Thank you for your replies. The problem has gone with the recommended settings in video inspector. The problem that I have now is worse. I have very good textures, incredibly crisp, but FSX freezes after roughly 5 minutes and crashes with an error message :( Help needed please My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
November 12, 201015 yr Moderator What error message? Also, when you uninstalled/installed your drivers, did you follow the steps of uninstall - reboot into safe mode - run driver cleaner - reboot - install new driver or did you just install new over old?If you didn't do it, I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the driver as above. Then set it up with nvidia inspector.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

I reinstalled it completely and it is fine , no crash for now . It is true that this driver gives much better ground textures. My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/

November 13, 201015 yr Author So, does this mean you are back on the "never ending tweaking circus?" :( scott s..Hi, :( Maybe but it is your fault guys, you saved my bacon on this oneNote that I resisted for a long time with 197 drivers :( take care My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
November 13, 201015 yr Since this issue was resolved, I would like to hijack it momentarilly. I'm running FSX Acceleration on a E8400 Dual Core Duo (OC'd to 3.6) with 6 Gigs or DDR3 and a 8800 GTS 512. It's running very well with the help of Nick's and Bojote's 'tweaks', but as the OP says the never ending tweaking has consumed me. I'm running the 8800 on the 195.62 drivers with the help of Nhancer. However, I keep hearing how great these new drivers are and I am wondering if I should also jump on the band wagon. Will the new drivers help my old reliable 8800 GTS? Anyone out there with the new drivers on an 8800? What are your thoughts?

(unless another unexpected problem arises :( )Hope this helps My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
