November 13, 201015 yr Hi, I am currently en route toward the cold Sweden from the warm Portugal with my A319 Wilco merged with the Project Airbus. Well, I had several problems to follow the route inserted into the MCDU. For example, three or four times my aircraft followed very strange heading quite different than the next waypoint's heading (e.g. waypoint on heading 040, ND suddenly modified from 040 to 240, then the aircraft turns left or right to follow that heading).Did you have any kind of similar problems? How did you fix it?p.s.: the Eric Marciano MCDU upgrade fix all problems about TOD?Thanks, bye.RR Capt. RICCARDO RIGHETTIProud customer of the PMDG 737NGX and PMDG 777X (wating for next... November 14, 201015 yr That's very strange. I have done many flight with this aircraft and have never seen this kind of behavior. Could it be that for some odd reason the heading mode switches to manual instead of managed?Regarding Eric Marciano's MCDU upgrade: no, it does not really fix it. It makes it better, but it still doesn't really work. November 14, 201015 yr RR1. Do you have the latest version (3c) of the bus installed?2. Have you removed all discontinuities in your flightplan?3. Haven't you accidentaly activated HOLDs for these waypoints?4. Did you import a ready flightplan and if so - are both navdata sets (AIRAC) the same?5. Haven't you by chance replaced any bgl files in your Eurw folder (can cause strange things)?6. Have you tried searching the FeelThere support forum for similar cases?
November 15, 201015 yr I've had the same problem with the Wilco Airbus.Taking a thought from another thread, I copied the magdec.bgl file to the topmost scenery layer (for me, Addon Scenery/Scenery). I did this because the observation of the aircraft's behaviour (sharp changes in ND and losing the track) seemed consistent with the magdec bug that crops up from time to time.I've only done two flights since moving the file, but they went well, with no circling behaviour. Bryn.Hi, yesterday night I tried and had the problem again. It seems the problem comes up mostly (70%-80%) with external views or wing views. Yesterday, when I switched from the external view to the cockpit view I had no problems within 2-3 hours.@ Bryn: very interesting point. Where does that file lie? Any folder as "root folder/world/scenery/..."? Did you have that kind of problem either in cockpit view, external views or wing views?Bye.RR Capt. November 15, 201015 yr Hi, magdec.bgl is in FS9Root\Scenery\BASE\Scenery.I am pretty sure the problem is the same regardless of the view. Also, regarding Eric Marciano's upgrade, I have it and while it is a nice graphics update, it does not fix what I consider to be the main problem with the Wilco Airbuses: TOD point doesn't update when the flightplan is changed; altitude and waypoint constraints have no effect; there is no second page on the flight plan recording fuel usage; and EFOB calcs don't update with actuals (and sometimes give you weird and wacky negative values!). So it's still a manual calculation for the TOD. There may be new updates that fix these things, I guess (fingers crossed) and Wilco have indicated that they are updating the product (toes crossed).Bryn. Streaming at twitch.tv/brynmwr
November 15, 201015 yr Try increasing the Null Zone for the joystick. On some Wilco planes, even when it seems like the Autopilot is engaged, it will wander off course if the joystick isn't perfectly centered. Better yet, try disabling the joystick during flight to eliminate it as a possible source. KJ
November 15, 201015 yr Author Try increasing the Null Zone for the joystick. On some Wilco planes, even when it seems like the Autopilot is engaged, it will wander off course if the joystick isn't perfectly centered. Better yet, try disabling the joystick during flight to eliminate it as a possible source. KJIt does not seem the factor because last night I performed a flight using only the keyboard. So, nothing related this. Anyway, thanks for you help. Bye.I am going to test a flight using Bryn's trick, hope it will fix this problem. Anyway, it is very strange I have never had this kind of problem in three years, with any payware aicraft addon...I cannot understand why the ND reports suddenly a completely differnt heading degrees than like the real one (for example, next waypoint is about 060, while when the problem comes up I see onto ND a 200° heading, which leads the aircraft to turn).Furthermore. I would like to know if possible to change the ND from true heading to magnetic heading or viceversa. Infact, while flying with strong crosswind I have the aircraft simbol not aligned to the course, which is deviated to the left or right based on wind direction. I saw some shots (in the user manual) where a crosswind is report but the course line is perfectly straight. Any suggestion about that? Thanks bye.RRP.S.: I am on cruise now, cockpit view, no problems until now... After the dinner I will try to swith in spot mode and see what happens. Capt. November 16, 201015 yr Author Negative, I am very disappointed! :( After copying the magdec.bgl file to the Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, as advised by Bryn, I flew yeasterday from LPPT to EDDF, everything went good until 20 nm out of GASNO waypoint where the aircraft began a 15° bank angle turn right leaving the route and doing a almost perfect circle, then returned on route inbound GASNO, so I quit FS2004 before to launch out of the window my laptop! At this point I cannot understand why... Never had any problems in three years with any type of addon aircraft. I need your help again. I don't want to uninstall FS2004 for this stupid and weird problem...Thanks, bye.RR Capt. November 16, 201015 yr I took I flight from KORD to KLAX in the Wilco 319 and experianced the same problem, where about 20 mi from next waypoint the AC banks left and circles. I have to to a dir to the next waypoint to correct the problem. Then at the next waypoint it does the circle thing again. I tried the 320 and 321 with same route and they both flew the route fine. Go figure. November 17, 201015 yr One last thing to confirm before we lose all hope and return to the old faithful PSS versions: Is the magdec.bgl file in the topmost scenery folder? Addon Scenery/Scenery is not the topmost by default and, normally, any other addons will have higher priority.Add magdec.bgl to the highest priority folder (ie, highest number layer) and see how that goes.Bryn. November 17, 201015 yr Author Hi again, reading here and there I have found an interesting thing. Somewhere is suggested to delete one file called FMGC.cfg if any AIRAC cycle update was performed, which is my situation. This procedure is suggested to stop CTD or other strange behaviours by Wilco busses.I don't know if it is a valid chance, because I don't know if this will stop my problem, but this evening I am gonna try.Hope guys.Bye.
