November 14, 201015 yr Author The reason is because they want to train pilots into the habit of confirming the status of the A/P modes engaged by referencing the PFD annunciations since this is the only sure-fire way to confirm the desired AP mode is actually engaged. A LED light on the button only confirms you pressed the button.I can confirm from experience that sometimes you press an A/P button on the glareshield and the LED light temporarily lights while your finger is on the button. You would then look away, unknowing that after you removed your finger, the LED light extinguished and the button press did not take. If you don't properly scan the PFD after pressing a button, you could get yourself in a sticky situation by thinking an A/P mode is engaged when it's actually not.Yes, that makes good sense for real world flying. I like the idea of the instant notification of an button being pressed or a quick glance at the state of the button while simming. On this one, one press of one button can give up to 3 or 4 different indications depending on what else is going on on the flight deck at that moment. I wouldn't think is was strickly a cost savings issue for a majority of the Embarer operators to opt out of the GP light package.Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

In the sim, I would much prefer the button light works regardless of what is done in real ops. Same reason why I like yolks and such that can disappear too :) Dave Creed
November 15, 201015 yr Geof , since this is a self described review of the product, shouldn't this post be more appropriate in the Readers review forum?I'd normally agree but this topic became much more than a user review and thus it is going to stay here for now.The file links posted in the 2 posts which were removed in this thread were violations of a eula and had no place being placed here. November 15, 201015 yr Author THats screen shot looks awful.Well, I didn't think it looked awful. It is zoomed in pretty tight in the VC. The panel is actually one of the better ones in fsx. Not at sharp as the really high end stuff, but, a lot sharper than most. I just wanted to show the that the green indicator lights were designed into the previous Embarer package. I bought the E-Jets v2 package first so I didn't know anything about the previous one, now I have both.Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
