Did you read the notice when you launched the program? If you didn't, it would be wise to do so as your question is answered there. But, to help you out, it says that FS Real Time is limited to one hour and then disconnects from FS if using the unregistered version. You must relaunch it to activate it for another hour. In reality, it is useful if you cross time zones, especially the International Datline. For more info, why not read the documentation that comes with it.Jim D.

If only the Time Zone adjustment is needed, do a search for Dennis Thompson in the file library.John
Yea I have fs real time and the "timezone" things in my scenery library, are these the same files? Do they let me get the correct time when passing into different time zones as i fly around? So i will not need the registered version then. All i want is the correct time to be displayed when i fly across time zones, but not the "real time", but my fs time to be in sync, eg if i fly from WSSS-YMML takeoff 1300Z from WSSS, when i arrive into YMML will the correct time be shown with unregistered fs real time?

Theoretically they are identical, although it has been said that some corrections have been made with those provided with FS Real Time.If you want your time to synchronise - that is to say, stay exactly in time with the real world (FS loses a minute here and there), you will need a time synchroniser such as FS Real Time or FS Time Synch. Both timezone modifications and exact time synchronsisation can lead to other issues (sudden daylight changes, AI traffic reloading etc etc) so you will need to decide on your preferences. What i want is fs to display the proper time for the different parts of the world when i fly, i don't fly real time, i set my fs time to departure time according to my flight and fly to different destinations. I don't want it to sync with real world time, rather just display the correct time when i fly.Do i need the registered version for this?By this do you mean like it keeps every minute precise and every second precise so it doesn't lose a single second or minute or what?

Aside of losing a little time here and there, doesn't it do this for you at the moment? There are a few (very few) places where FS has configured the timezones wrongly, which is what Dennis Thompson's work caters for, but quite honestly I doubt you would notice. But if it is important to you, that should be all you need.John

One of those places was around St Petersburg, Pulkovo Airport (ULLI).This is the FS9 Worldwide Time Zone zip from Dennis Thompson in the library:tz30.zipand the latest update for it we have in the Library, v.5:tz22-tz30update5.zipThese files are included with FS Real Time and also include the latest update from Dennis Thomson (v.8).

Ok, i get it now. Let me try to explain one last time. Ok, if i depart at 1300Z from Singapore which is 900pm local there, and head for Melbourne, i should be arriving near 2025Z or 725am local, will this happen if i set this departure time in fs and fly the whole flight perfectly (obviously i wont be arriving at exactly 725am) but will i be arriving near that, if in theory, the whole flight goes perfect?I fly when ever i have time and want to, not with real world, i just want fs to display the correct time for each leg of my flights. Also, for eg, if you fly from Singapore to Los Angeles, will fs real time enable the proper time to be shown through out the journey?

Taken from FS Realtime webpage;FS Problem Solved:A known problem in all Microsoft Flight Simulators is that the time keeps falling behind the Real World time. Also, when crossing Time Zones, the Microsoft Flight Simulators all change its UTC time instead of its Local Time, which can cause problems. The same thing happened when crossing the International Date Line but even worse -- by a whole day! For example, if you were flying East at dusk, when crossing a Time Zone, all of a sudden you would find yourself flying in broad daylight again. This program will monitor your aircraft's current UTC offset within Microsoft Flight Simulator and preemptively adjust the game's UTC to the correct (offset adjusted) time, as you cross each Time Zonehttp://www.3dsoftworks.net/products/fsrealtime/If you want accurate UTC/local time while flying across time zones in Flight simulator, you must use FS Realtime.RJ

The simple answer is "yes".The full answer is that the clock will fall a few minutes behind (it loses a fraction of a time every time the simulator has to stop and think) and the occasional timezone will be wrong, but the clock will run continuously throughout your flight based on the time you set it at for departure and adjusting itself for time zones as you proceed.Best wishes,John

Ok, kewl, and as i fly along the correct time for that part of the world will show right (fs local time for that point that is). And i don't need a registered version since i have "world timezones" in my scenery folder as tis does what i want it to do, doesn't matter about those few minutes lost...I don't wanna get the registered version if all it does is just gets those few minutes back...
