December 6, 201015 yr Hi guys,When flying over Western Germany (near EDNL), I'm constantly getting a crash to desktop with no error message.I tried with default aircraft etc and it's still happening. I tried a flight from EDNL, but the sim crashed as the flight was being loaded.Any idea what I can do to stop this?Cheers,Ben AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance 32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card
December 6, 201015 yr Have you updated your FS9 to version 9.1? - I think there was a problem with crashes around Switzerland and Germany during winter that the update addressed.Alternatively are you using any add-on scenery for EDNL? That could also be a cause of the crash.
December 6, 201015 yr Author I've already updated to 9.1 (back in the day when it came out). There's no addon scenery for EDNL, it was just the closest airport to where the CTD was happening. It's really frustrating as it's right in the middle of Europe. :(quote name='momtchil' timestamp='1291638428' post='1887430']Have you updated your FS9 to version 9.1? - I think there was a problem with crashes around Switzerland and Germany during winter that the update addressed.Alternatively are you using any add-on scenery for EDNL? December 6, 201015 yr Are you using any other scenery in the area? Also it could be that some of your winter or fall textures have become corrupted. Try flying in summer and spring and see if the problem remains. Also see if flying in day or night makes a difference.
December 9, 201015 yr I am experiencing the same problem, yesterday I was flying LVLD 767 from EDDM to GMMN and somewhere over the Swiss german border west of Trasandingen VOR, FS crash to desktop and restarted, no error, or out memory messages.I switched to PMDG 737 and started the same flight plan, as i was flying over western germany in the same general area as before. It happened again. I have the 9.1 patch, and I have no addon scenery for EDNL.I fly this area a lot, and this is the first time that this happened, could it be the winter textures? Why do you think that has something to do with AI traffic? I will try it tonight without AI.ThanksJuan
December 19, 201015 yr Author I changed my season to summer, turned off all AI traffic, and it is still happening...Any other ideas?? :-( Cheers,Ben I am experiencing the same problem, yesterday I was flying LVLD 767 from EDDM to GMMN and somewhere over the Swiss german border west of Trasandingen VOR, FS crash to desktop and restarted, no error, or out memory messages.I switched to PMDG 737 and started the same flight plan, as i was flying over western germany in the same general area as before. December 19, 201015 yr Hi,Bad textures, change the season.Duplicate AFCADS use a utility that scans your system for duplicates.
December 20, 201015 yr Hi,Bad textures, change the season.Duplicate AFCADS use a utility that scans your system for duplicates.Had this two weeks ago over Albany NY. I ALWAYS have a backup of my world/scenery/texture and my /texture directory. Dropped in my backup and the issue went away. I am convinced that for some reason textures "can" become corrupt. I would replace those two directories with backups and try again.-P Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
December 20, 201015 yr .........I am convinced that for some reason textures "can" become corrupt.......Yup, the world textures can. Its happened to me in a couple of places in the past too.BWBriscoe,Try flying at Night and see if that also reproduces the problem, and also try flying in mid fall and spring.

I am at work at the moment but will update this thread later tonight with the names of the two files that cause the problems. Simply remove the AFCAD files and no CTD.Cheers Keith
December 20, 201015 yr Ben,If you do use AI traffic of any sort delete any ETHL & ETSM afcad files to stop CTD...Cheers Keith
December 20, 201015 yr Author Hi Keith,I do use ultimate traffic, and I have had problems with their AFCADs before.Where can I find the ETHL and ETSM AFCAD files? Many thanks for your help.Ben Ben,If you do use AI traffic of any sort delete any ETHL & ETSM afcad files to stop CTD...Cheers Keith AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance 32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card
December 21, 201015 yr [ben,Off the top of my head I think they are in FS9 - Scenery - World - scenery folder. However, if you just do a search for ETHL & ETSM in windows explorer wihin the FS9 folder you should find them easily enough. Delete the ones you find.Let me know if it works for youCheersKeith
December 21, 201015 yr Author Hi Keith,When I search I get four files for ETHL:AF2_ETHL.bglETHL_Excl.bglETHL_Lines.bglETHL_VTP2.bgland just one file for ETSM:AF2_ETSM.bglWhich ones should I delete?Cheers,Ben [ben,Off the top of my head I think they are in FS9 - Scenery - World - scenery folder. However, if you just do a search for ETHL & ETSM in windows explorer wihin the FS9 folder you should find them easily enough.
