January 28, 201115 yr ...So looking for inputs. I bought a 120 gb OCZ RevoDrive PCIe for FSX. I'm wondering if I should also install my WIn7 64 on it also to maximize performance?...The only issue with using the RevoDrive PCIe x4 for your OS is; the motherboard must support booting from the PCIe slot it is installed in. OCZ's forums have a "verified" operational motherboard list. The OCZ SSD forum members have dealt with a lot of the quirks that result when installing the card as a boot drive.Putting FSX and your OS on a single SSD? Go for it! Just remember to create a seperate directory as previously mentioned. I have had FSX and Win 7 on 1, split on 2, and split on 2 with add-ons placed on the OS drive. I have not experienced any difference in performance using the same FSX.cfg/Scenery.cfg with the addressing lines edited accordingly...Don

Wicked Fast and of course silent. Even with a ton of addons FSX loads almost instant and I don't notice as many texture pop-ins when cycling different views.

A Google session revealed that I should change the access method to AHCI in the BIOS, I had it set to IDE. This worked fine and I haven't had an issue since. Learn a little evey day.
