January 9, 201115 yr That will be another time. I wanted to keep it at a 800$ budget and got it at about 820$ after rebates. Maybe when my birthday rolls around I will upgrade to 6 or even faster ram. Also, this is my first build so I didn't want to go crazy.
January 10, 201115 yr Author Got back from Microcenter a couple hours with my i7-2600k! Now I just need this ramz.If you're looking for a sturdy metal backplate for your new Sandy Bridge system, I can confirm the Xigmatek Crossbow (ACK-I5361) works perfectly on my P67A-UD5 without interfering with any of the circuitry or other stuff on the back. I imagine it's the same for all the Gigabyte boards, if not all the Sandy Bridge boards...This thing is legit. January 10, 201115 yr I'm still installing all the regular stuff I need, but at least she's up and running.
January 10, 201115 yr Good, and now you should install FSX + a few addons!? Early signs point to me being extremely video card limited. Either that or there's something wrong. Haven't figured out which yet, but it's time for bed so I'll have to mess with it more tomorrow.

(joke of course)have a good night man! Florian
January 10, 201115 yr I wouldn't try OCing just yet. Fair few complaints of CPUs dying after being OCd for a couple of days.
January 10, 201115 yr I wouldn't try OCing just yet. Fair few complaints of CPUs dying after being OCd for a couple of days. This is a lie. One person in one forum now has a CPU whose turbo option doesn't work with stock settings. OMG, Sandy Bridge is totally broken, no one buy it! If this were anything other than a relatively small internet community you could expect a nice letter from Intel's lawyers threatening a libel suit for statements like this.

He mentions that he actually feels 1.5V is a safe value 24/7 from his experience....http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/908782-sneak-peak-my-sandy-bridge-overclocking.html
