I was gonna go to microcenter but newegg has a bundle of the 2600K and asus mobo and its 1 dollar more than MC but Microcenter is actually 45 minutes away from my house and its snowing right now. So its probably a safer bet to just order on newegg lol

I don't see that bundle. Are you referring to the bundle that includes the GTX470, case, etc, etc? It seems like microcenter is way ahead of newegg on pricing... enough so that it would be worth the drive.

I went to Fry's this morning to pick up an i7-2600k and they only had 4 in stock. Guess who was 5th in line! Thankfully I had already reserved one for in-store pickup at Microcenter in Houston just in case. I did pick up my P67A-UD5 though.CIMG2458.JPGCIMG2459.JPG

I'm probably not the best person to show performance. I don't own many add-ons, and I'm still stuck using a 4850. Hoping to upgrade that soon, but it'll be holding things back a massive amount.

no matters, FSX need CPU, graphic card is a bit secondary!

It needs CPU, yes, but you can get some impressive gains with a newer card. Just go look at some of the 580 and 570 reviews in the video card forum.

I reserved my 2600K at Microcenter this morning and will need to pick it up in the next day or two. I'll probably get the Gigabyte UD3P on newegg sometime this week.

Ordered an oc bundle at 4.8 ghz on a ud7 and a 580 evga gtx oc. Going from an i7 max oc 3.8 and a 285, so I will let you know how it pans out with 1 ghz extra. If I get 5 more fps on the minium side where my current system bottoms with heavy add-ons (only scenery) at 11-12 fps worst case at big airports etc 100% ui and all bells and whistles on. I will be happy becuase I can use the the new PMDG NGX and Aerosoft CRJ and keep the detail up ( I hope). Damn FSX! lol. At least I did not blow 1000 on a 980x to try and get the highest clock speed.. At least this company gtd the oc at 4.8 stable and 1 year warranty so perhaps I luck out and get a better 'binned' cpu as they sell other bundles at 4.6, 4.7. I think all will get 4.4-4.5, but I wanted 4.8 or so cause my current system is not that bad and wanted to feel like I am getting a decent upgrade. Manged to sell the x58 i7, so not in that bad of shape money-wise minus GTX 580 being over priced!! WIll let you guys know how it turns out.
