February 7, 201115 yr We simmers who never flew a real aircraft wanna know what you think based on your experiences in the cockpit in the real world is the one you would recommend. You can be retired, currently flying for any company, or a private pilot to put your two cents in. Fellow simmers who NEVER (like me)sat in the pilot's seat wanna know which is ultimately the best prop, turbo prop, airline add-on developer to purchase add-ons from! Vote by comparing as much as POSSIBLE comparing the add-on to the real world counterpart you piloted. After voting reply with the specific model, from the developer, you have in mind. THANKS!!!!

THANKS!!!!You left out a couple of top contenders. Based on real world experience, I would definitely add Rick Piper's freeware HS748 - it has taken me back to the "real world" many times. I would also add the Dream Fleet 727 - an absolutely superb simulation of one of the greatest airliners that ever flew. So accurate it definitely could be used as a procedural trainer
February 7, 201115 yr i can vouch for Eaglesoft's DA42 given i'm a DA42 driver myself, as well as Majestic/Fanda's dash 8s (i'm currently doing a type rating on the DHC-8-100/300) "If lightning is the anger of the gods, the gods are concerned mostly with trees." -- Lao Tse (6th Century BCE)

February 7, 201115 yr Level-D FEELS right...Absolutely. I flew the 767-200ER for 10 years before I retired and it's just like being back there with slightly higher weights. Even the manuals are almost the same. Best sim going.Colin B
February 8, 201115 yr Absolutely. I flew the 767-200ER for 10 years before I retired and it's just like being back there with slightly higher weights. Even the manuals are almost the same. Best sim going.Colin BIf I had been able to make two choices, LevelD would have been my other choice also. :( But felt I needed to put in a plug for including some other options that I had real world experience in. Never flew the 767 but have a friend who is a retired Continental Captain and when I demonstrated FS9 to him, he was VERY impressed with the LevelD. CheersIan
February 8, 201115 yr I'm going to say something really strange here, and it's very possible that I'm quite mad.One of the most convincing aircraft that I've encountered (as far as flying the thing goes) is JustFlight's old Piper Tomahawk from their flying school series. Yes I know, weird. The other aircraft in that package, the Warrior, C152 and Seneca, not at all. But that Tomahawk really behaves just like the real thing, which I gathered hundreds of hours on years ago. You can spin it and everything, and I tried various maneouvres to compare it to the real thing and was pleasantly surprised every time. It feels right, and the performance is spot on, and it even sounds like the real thing. There are others but this one is perhaps a bit of a surprise.
February 8, 201115 yr Strange, no one mentioned what I think is the best aircraft for FS: the Leonardo Maddog! Evrything to the minimum detail is simulated, failures, MEL, circuit breakers, terrain display, weather radar, windshear, compact displays... James Goggi
February 9, 201115 yr Strange, no one mentioned what I think is the best aircraft for FS: the Leonardo Maddog! Evrything to the minimum detail is simulated, failures, MEL, circuit breakers, terrain display, weather radar, windshear, compact displays...No one's mentioned Project Tupolev either. The Project Tupolev Tu-154M is certified by the Tupolev company (now part of UAC - 'United Aircraft Corporation') to be used as official training software for Tu-154M flight crews. It's the only add-on I'm aware of that has been officially certified in this form.
February 9, 201115 yr Author I couldn't think of all of them so thats why I added Other/Freeware or Payware..sawwyyyyyy :(
February 9, 201115 yr No one's mentioned Project Tupolev either. Possibly because not many of us have flown the real thing and therefore can't really comment.Colin B
February 10, 201115 yr Author I am really enjoying the responses. There has got to be more real pilots on the forums. Thanks :(
