February 15, 201115 yr Hey all!I'm looking for a modeler who will help me develop payware aircraft. Long term relationship is requested. You will be paid for your efforts.Reason being, I'm starting an aircraft project for FSX. T-37 Tweet and all variants (Including A-37). I'm not good at all with modelling! Thanks in advance. February 17, 201115 yr There's a reason you are not getting many response here. There are not a lot of FSX modelers to begin with, and most of them are already busy. The ones doing payware are pretty much all working for known groups or themselves, and the ones doing freeware are not going to be interested. Even if you did find someone I wonder if you have any idea what a payware quality model will cost you to have done (probably more than you think). At any rate, good luck with your project. March 3, 201115 yr Moderator One other reason for "lack of interest" may well be that while you've explicitly stated you aren't very good at modeling, you haven't stated just what it is that you would be contributing to such an endeavor......which creates the (possibly erroneous) impression that your interest is essentially managerial and pecuniary... :( Fr. March 4, 201115 yr An interesting choice of aircraft is a good place to start, you have that, to advance the project further you need to do the mathand assess the viability, getting mesh isn’t difficult and depending on quality/ details will cost about 1000 bucks to produce untextured and unmapped , mapped and textured about $3.000, these figures represent what has been the median price for smaller aircraft. The mesh now in hand one needs to create the " FDE " , this aspect has to be done right and those who can do it properly charge around $1200, the sound done by any of the regular channels is another $1200 , and you still have an inert model, IE: no animation tags or gauge code.Coding the model is yet another $1200 bucks , this is what i see offered for the basic work of tagging the parts and panel, extra features like Loadout menus and " eye candy " add to that cost , decent pilot $600 bucks , ground support equipment, APU, etc, etc.Generally getting the model "prepped " by the modeller is going to be about three grand by the time all is said and done, assuming there is no 2D panel you are about ready to produce the PDF files , users manual , POH , generally this involves purchasing the Manual for the aircraft in question at the start for development and using it as the basis for the Release Documentation.Ancillary costs for promotion should be considered as well , the production of a Video of three minutes is about $300 bucks, doing your own website work .... priceless .So to the math Bare Minimum price to get a project in the air is around $6,600 USD and that’s the basics only , limiting its appeal to the consumers who expect all the bells and whistles and necessitate going that extra mile if you expect to sell more than 300 units during the initial run.The above figures are an average of what i have personally seen in a rather large sample of releases by myself and other compatriots, your experience may vary , what you bring to the table and can do yourself reduces the costs of your own projects, If you are serious and have done the math, and have the talent or resources to accomplish your goal , feel free to send any professional a PM , anybody who works in this business is open to discussion , assuming it’s from an informed source, the majority of these posts are 14 year olds dreaming out loud,, Are You Shane ?
