It seems that it´s reducing the the number ot trees anh ouses in the area. I´m a bit curious of thet the scenery will look the same afterwards? But nethertheless I´ll give it a try. Thanks for this.

Best regards, Steffen

EDIT: Tried it out and it reduced shutters a bit, but now there are less trees and PNW doesn´t look as ipressive as it normally looks with more trees, so I might tweak this settings. I think most of my shutters are caused by my grafic card, she´s a bit slow on reendering, but I don´t have the money to buy me my beloved GTX 560, so I have to wait and live with this till Easter.

Try 3000/3000 then...You can adjust it as you like, but IMO there's way too many trees and buildings!BTW I noticed your rig in signature just now, it's not really the fastest for FSX, you are aware of that, right?

Yeah, It´s not the best system out there. I didn´t think of FSX when I bought it, it should just run FS9, but I think FSX looks far better so I try to get it running. If I had 1000€, I would build me an extraordinary FSX system with an i7-2600k CPU, but it´s out of my budget, so I have to make the best out of it.

To JS47 & Superpilotv2 in above posts re stutters. This is what I did as per tweak by *******;In root folder of FSX open Autogen folderYou should see a file called default.xmlRight click this file and select notepad to open this so you can edit it.In the very top line <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> change the 16 to 8 and save.Worked for me and easy to switch back if it doesn't help.A search for "Stutters in FSX" and much reading of all the info found this tweak by ******* but I didn't save it.He explains what this tweak does for those that want to get into the "meat" of it.Clear skies everyone.

Thanks, I´ll gone test it when I finished installing my new CPU cooler.

I will give it a shot myself. I upgraded to a 570 from a 260 and my frames are great but the stutters are killing me.

On my GTX 260 I found the thing which created the shutters: I had a too hingh AA level enabled. Resetted it from 16xQ to 8xQ and now it´s mostly smooth.

Glad to hear that tweak from ******* worked.I just installed Tongass Fjords and all the FTX NA Blue Pacific Fjords,Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest.I now have those *%@#** microstutters back AGAIN!!!!Used the FSX.cfg from ******* and get a "congratulations-no more tweaking required" but still get micro-stuttering, no matter what I try.Unchecked all the new installs in the FSX library and still getting stutters.Let FSX build a new cfg and still getting stutters.Don't know what the hell happened but I'm at a loss as to what to look for now.Back to FS9????

How much RAM do you have? Did you try to diasble the pagefile? Or use a lower AA level.

Ram shouldn't be a problem -- 3x2 DDR3 -1600 9-9-9. 6GB total.Have run FSX in windowed mode with the Task Manager showing on my second monitor. The CPU is loafing at a maximum 48% and have never seen any of the cores over 3/4 of the way up the scale.Have never had anything to do with the page file and I don't see it mentioned in Nicks' guide.????Have set up the graphics in the NVidia Control panel as per Nicks' guide. Lowering the AA level doesn't take away my taxing, turning or side view in flight stutters. Thanks for the interest.

F/E - did you do a defrag after the install?

Check your BP setting make sure that's it's low enough to reduce stutters and lock fps in FSX.
