February 19, 201115 yr I read that it comes without any fans, you have to acquire those as well. Then how expensive or silent will it be? But other than that, it´s supposed to do very well, right up there with Noctua NH-D4, and a tad smaller. There´s a 3dGuru review out there that tells you the whole story.Bjorn "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
February 20, 201115 yr If money is no object - try Thermalright Archon. greets, PeterI have a Venomous on my i7 860. Socket 1156. I got it on sale. You need to get fans for it. I use Noctua fans and run 4.2 GHz all day. There are some restrictions on the height of your memory if use the closest slots on the motherboard.Kdub

February 20, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the replys guys. I don't plan on changing out my cooler until april when the asus replacement P8P67 Deluxe is out. I've read that the NH-D14 will fit on my board with my ram, but thought it may be overkill due to the size and weight. That's the reason I'm looking at the Venemous X. I still have time to look. Only thing that concerns me about the Venemous X is the wobbling I've been reading about. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
February 20, 201115 yr If you plan on overclocking your 2600K above 4.0GHz then you should go with the Thermalright Silver Arrow or the NH-D14, either one is great and it looks like most people are clocking these above 4.5GHz pretty easily. In all reviews I have seen there is only a degree or two difference in temps between them. Either will fit in your HAF 932 case. If you have tall heat spreaders on your ram then you should go wiht the NH-D14 because it is easier to mount the fans higher, the front fans on the SA can not be mounted any higher using the clips provided.Page five of this review shows you what I mean, my Mushkin ram barely fits under the front fan of my SA.http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/thermalright_silver_arrow_cpu_cooler_review,5.html

I would choose the NHD-14 over the Silver Arrow, but it looks like the Venemous X is virtually similar based on that same link and the test results. I plan on putting two AP-15's on the Venemous X if I go that route.
