February 24, 201115 yr I got an incredible deal on an I7 960 ($100 BRAND NEW from a friend!!!) and couldn't pass it by.I had been holding out for the Sandy Bridge chipsets to be re-shelved, but feel I got a great deal. With the purchase of a Sabertooth X58 and quality DDR3, I paid $450 for the new system. Anyone else think I got a great deal?I figure when the P67 is back in a month or so, I'll have saved $200 up for the motherboard and >$300 for the 2600K if I really feel compelled to get it then(that's what I've decided on against the 2500K). I'm a full time college student and about to be a part time flight instructor, so scrounging up money is tough for me. :Black Eye: This processor was considerably less than the 2600K...The mobo and RAM are scheduled to arrive tomorrow, at which point I'll be dead to the world for 2-3 days.Be nice! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

February 24, 201115 yr That´s a nice deal, indeed! Watch out that you have a decent cooler for oc´ing it. I prefer the Scythe Mudgen II, which I have installed today and got a heat decreasing of aruond 35% or 69°C before and 52°C after. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h

February 25, 201115 yr Author Thanks everyone! Now that buyer's remorse is wearing off a bit! :Nail Biting: I've heard good things about the Mugen II, but I haven't been a fan of Scythe's coolers. I don't know why... Personal preference I guess. I'm eying the Noctua D14, which is over-priced to me but aesthetically pleasing with the Sabertooth mobo. I'm a sucker for classy/well matched looking systems. Spent me 8 hours looking for RAM that would go well. :Nerd: Thanks again everyone for the second opinions! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
