The sky color in FS9 ?

Featured Replies

Hi,I have noticed that in several screenshot posts, the sky in FS9 has a very clear blue color. But I can in no way get that color in my FS9. I can only get the same lightblue hazy sky color as in FS2002???No matter how I adjust the weather settings,....the sky remains light blue haze...??Here you can see a sample of my sky color.....http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/49277.jpgAnd here is the color I want in FS9. The skycolour in FS2004 depends on so many different factors as there are time of the day, season, weather, visibility, humidity, viewing dierection in relation do the sun, viewing up, viewing horizontal, etc. Even the geographical position has an influence! If you hav a standard flight saved, than you will allways fly at the same time on the same day, which means the variaty of sky colours is limited even with different waether settings.BTW it is not fair compare the 2 pics, you have posted. On the first one the view is horizontal, whereas on the 2nd one the view is more upwards. Looking up you will allways see a more deeeper blue of the sky than looking horizontal.Wolfgang

Also I notice that the blue you seek is there during the fair weather scheme as opposed to the clear day for some reason and in the 2 shots it is thaat way also.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com

Hi,The sky colors were solved with the suggestion by Chris. Those sky replacement files gives a much clearer sky. It also gives you the possibility to adjust the haze more easy. ;-)Regards,Staffan AhlbergSweden/Stockholm/ESSA

Staffan:Ooops. Sorry for file error. That's what you get when you rely on memory (limited in my case) vs copy & paste. :-)Chris

Acturally, to me, the top picture looks more realistic. Maybe I'm colorlblind but the deep blue depicted in the second pic is not what I see when I look at the sky on a clear day.Bob

It's called pollution ;)-Daniel

>Acturally, to me, the top picture looks more realistic. >Maybe I'm colorlblind but the deep blue depicted in the secondNo you are not. The top one IS more realistic. What he wants is the type of sky color you get in Hollywood Technicolor movies - oversaturated because they are slightly underexposed.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg

Hmmm,....I guess that depends on where you live. Up here in the crisp north, we almost never get the hazy polution lookalike sky. ;-)BTW, I get more happy with the clear blue sky, since I mostly fly above 30.000 feet. Which means that I don
