May 10, 201115 yr What you mean are most likely one of the first they ever posted, those were early, yet spectacular WIP renderings of the OH. Since the main panel seems to be rendered in a 'flat' perspective (believe isometric is the correct wording) I wondered if the OH would be the same. Give a close look to the MCP knobs, especially also the EFIS knobs and the gear lever as well. All of them look like a perfect 'top down' view.Look at these, one and two to see the difference in perspective. Especially look at the MCP knobs in #1, and the general perspective in #2, which is more like looking up and forward, giving more of a 'pseudo'-3D impression. I would not mind at all if the OH of the NGX, in fact all its 2D panels had the flat appereance like the main panel. Makes them quite easy to use and gives a well organized look on screen IMHO. Well, after all I'm just curious. Here's the deal - 2D panels necessarily distort the scale and perspective of the cockpit. This time around we decided to do everything from a straight "head on" perspective instead of trying to simulate any kind of angle that's unrealistic to begin with - it makes the panel easier to read and things don't end up looking stretched and weird. This will not be changing.Ah - I was sort of asking that over in that other thread - but the answer is here so thanks! :(
May 10, 201115 yr I already have TrackIR5.What exactly does EZdok camera do, and why should I shell out 35 bucks to get it? Definitely not the same thing... You can create camera on the fly. I think you can create up to 256 cameras... You can assign key combo to the camera you've created... On any camera you've created you can independently edit all the effects (vibration/mouse zoom/transitions speed/etc) and even deactivate TIR... This last function is just amazingly useful when creating camera views similar to 2D panels (No TIR/No vibration). You can import/export profiles... Man, EZCA is A MUST... And, I really don't see the use of of 2D panel anymore with it. It's a little pricey but really worth every penny. And version 2 is coming this summer... Best regards, Fritz ESSONO
May 11, 201115 yr 2D panel = IFRVC = VFR/Visual(Though I can see the HUGS changing this)I just hope that the 2D panel has a WideScreen option-- Jim Atkins

I fly VC exclusively and with TrackIR I can navigate fine without extra views and more keyboard shortcuts. The only benefit I see is the vibration effects, but I thought you could edit the head latency lines in FSX.cfg to already simulate this? May 11, 201115 yr May I suggest as an option to get that center post out of view? It would keep the "straight on" mentality in place, but even improve upon it. The post really is there only when you think 3D operations of the aicraft. Pure panel view might even do better without it. As an option. :)Tero Partanen PPL(A)
