Best FSX CFG Tweaks

Featured Replies

Hi again, Recently got my new computer (see specs) and everything runs fine, everything except FSX. At the moment i only see it using four threads (0,2,4,6) and 2.4-2.7GB of RAM with 4GB remaining overall (including OS etc..). I have tried the AM tweak to no result. What tweaks could everyone recommend to get the best out of this system.

Did you run your CFG file through this? http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.htmlAre you using the 3.0 shader mod too?

Ok just did those mods and worked brilliantly in areas i was suffering. Will have a look at the shader 3.0 mod. BTW is there absolutely no fix for the RAM? Im sure it would help.

Well, you can use this ftweak too:[GRAPHICS]HIGHMEMFIX=1This will help you to get a better RAM usage. But to me a RAM usage of arround 2,5-2,7 GB is quite normal, if this is the usage of FSX only.

Best regards, Steffen

But what im saying is i have plenty of RAM so it would be of benefit if it used more.

That is not the way it works. If you load your FSX install up with add-ons like hi-rez scenery and airplanes, you'll see the RAM usage go up (and your performance suffer..)
