Questions on the NGX

Featured Replies

Hi Robert,I just have a few questions relating to the NGX. With release now not too far away (no, I'm not asking for a date), would it be possible for you or someone at PMDG to release some detailed information on what we're going to get for our money when we buy the NGX? For example, besides the 737-600, -700, -800, -900 models, will there be any BBJ or military variants included? Will different engines be modelled? Which liveries will we be able to download from the PMDG website? Are there any tools included such a fuel planning, flight planning, takeoff performance (like TOPCAT) and load management? While not dreadfully important, out of curiosity, will there be opening cockpit windows, moving pilot/co-pilot seats, sun visors that can be manipulated, and/or an opening cockpit door into the passenger cabin? Will there be wheel chocks, engine and other covers, boundary ropes to stop passengers walking too close to the aircraft when boarding/leaving the aircraft (as seen in the JS4100)?While we are waiting for the release, I just thought it would be nice if we could have some more information shared with us. Please don't take my post as impatience - simply curiosity. I appreciate whoever can respond to this enquiry.

I was going to let Robert answer this one, but since you appreciate every helpful answer, I'll try to answer three or four of your questions:"There is no annoucement from PMDG confirming any of the variants. It's very likely that the -600, -700 and -800 variants will be included. The only doubts that "we" have are regarding the -700ER, -700C and -900ER. And the 900 as well because it is not produced anymore since it was substituted by the -900ER.The BBJ has a *possibility* of getting it's own model and having the 3 (maybe 4) variants (BBJ1 (737-700), BBJ2 (737-800), BBJ3 (737-900ER) and, if we get the 737-700C, the BBJ version of this variant) released as an expansion pack. *Always keeping in mind that it is a possibility*.PMDG has already confirmed at some point that military variants will not be included. We don't know if PMDG will release the -600 and -700 first and then the -800 and -900, like they did with the 737NG for FS9; we don't know "if" all these variants will be included and how much the package will cost. PMDG is (or was) internally discussing this and others commercial issues."I believe that those informations are still true because nobody from PMDG have corrected me at any point since I "developed" this 'speech'. BTW, I'm very sorry if I'm being [extremely] repetitive. I just think that it's better [less tiring] to copy the same post again and again than to develop a new speech every time someone asks this. I'm just lazy :(.Regards,

Thanks for trying to help, Matheus. However, I'd like to wait to hear from someone who knows for sure rather than someone who is guessing.

All those informations I quoted above from the BBJ on are based on informations that PMDG made public in this forum. If you search, you'll find them. But I understand your point.

I'd like to make a correction. The 900 has already been in a picture on Facebook, so I think that is pretty much confirmed.

By 14th of February, in the "Externalities and the NGX" thread I said that I could assume that the -800 and -900 would be included because they were at the pictures, but for some reason, Ryan said: "Don't presume anything that we haven't actually said please..."

Hmm, that's strange. Anyway, I like your new avatar of a GOL winglet!

See. I told you people. No informations about "commercial issues" until release.

Thanks a lot.. Glad you liked it. I was reading some old threads and I saw SMIT07 avatar picture (a photo of a winglet) and thought "I have to change mine". I was using that old picture since my first day in this forum. It was time for a change.

Still it is kinda weird that you guys give us a picture with the -800 and -900 variants, but we are corrected/reprimanded when we assume that these variants will be included. What are we supposed to think? "Hmm, I see an 800 variant, naw, they probably won't include that..."?I mean you give us the pictures to enjoy, but then say that the contents of the pictures may or may not be released? I don't particularly understand that logic. I certainly don't mean to cause a disruption, but if you show something in a picture, your audience is automatically going to believe that what you're showing will be included. Why shouldn't we think so? Again, it doesn't really matter, and if you've ever heard me post, you know that I always support PMDG's decisions. Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset in the slightest, but I am rather confused. I almost feel a little deceived. (Don't hate me, I still love PMDG.) I hope I'm ready for the heat I'm gonna get for this... I believe this is my first controversial post. Anyway. Moving on... :(

I think that PMDG can answer my question:I still use the old Windows XP. I'm thinking about updating to the Windows7, but I don't have an immediate "urgency" to do this although the W7 is way better than the XP. So, what I want to know is: will the NGX run with the XP? Because if it won't, I'll update my system ASAP.That's all.
