November 25, 200322 yr I bought the Flight1 Pipper Archer II. But the External Pint job is real bad... its all fuzzy and stuff.I downloaded some Paint ware from this forum.. and they looked good on the pictures.. but when I loaded them on Tex-o-Matic and compiled them.. It comes out fuzzy.Whats up with that?Is it something that I am doing? Any suggestions? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 25, 200322 yr It's not the Archer itself, all the supplied textures look really good. Something else is causing the problem. Be sure you have all the textures set to maximum in the FS2004 options. If that doesn't do it, look over the settings for your video card for anything "strange".Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. November 25, 200322 yr FS 9: Settings, DisplayAircraft: Global quality: highHardware: Max texture size: massiveThat should do it. Bert
November 25, 200322 yr Crank your MIP slider up and see if that helps.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com Best, Michael KDFW
November 25, 200322 yr Author I did everything that you guys said.. Nope.. Its just this aircraft. When I change to other aircrafts including the Flight1 C130 and the Cessna 150 they come out real good.Hmmm.... Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 25, 200322 yr Looks fine on my system (see attached screen shot). What do you have the texture filter set as?
November 25, 200322 yr Manny, it's a good idea to post your system specs if you have graphics problems like this. Without knowing details of your sstem its imposible to tell what the problem might be or how to fix it.You may simply have an old graphics card that can't handle the type of tecxtures being used, you may have run out of texture memory, or you may need to zoom right in on the aircraft then zoom out to see the textures clearly.Allcott
November 25, 200322 yr Hi Manny,It is definitely a mip map problem on your system / installation that is causing this. It is not a defect or bug with the product, even if it may not be happening with other aircraft. It would be best to post this problem at our dedicated support forums, and provide your system details also. In the meantime, as described above, set aircraft texture size to massive, switch to another flight (preferably the default start flight), then load the Archer. November 25, 200322 yr Author My System is this.Dell 2 GHz processor. 1 Gig of RAM.I have the latest GeoForce 5900 Ultra with 256 MB card and the lates Nvidea Drivers.I have plenty of paywares...from Real Air and from Dreamfleet Flight 1.Its only this Piper thats giving me trouble. Here is a Picture.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/50215.jpg Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 25, 200322 yr That looks like a texture filtering problem. Set your texture filter to trilinear, or better yet go in the nvidia control panel and force some anisotropic filtering. I use 4x aniso.
November 25, 200322 yr Author The anisotropic was at 8X and the texture filter was at bilinear and I tried changing it to Trilinear.Nope.. :(The thing is I had installed the 2002 (not on the Fs9 dir) verision first and then the 2004 version. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 27, 200322 yr Zoom in on the aircraft from spot view, then zoom out again. IS it clear now? Then you have a problem with your card or drivers and its mipmapping capabilities. Reinstall the drivers or try a different set, or download some of the aftermarket non-mipmapped texture sets.Allcott
November 27, 200322 yr Author Thnks Alcott. It was not that... It was the Global..something..setting in the Harewarare tab of the Display setting. It was set for low..I changed it to very high and it came out OK.Thanks.:) Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
