No, I have a i7 2600k and have ht off because I have noticed it gives me slightly better performance.

Yeah, I have read in many places on this site that if you mainly plan on playing FSX, then the 2500k is a better choice since the 2600k makes no difference in FSX.

the 2600k has 8 mb level 3 cache while the 2500k got 6. i cant give you an exact number for the resulting performance gain but it should be round about 10 percent.

I don't know who is right but I have read on Many places on this site that if you plan on pretty much only playing games, especially FSX, the 2500k is for you. From my own personal experience I have turned ht on and used bojote's auto tweaking which put on my cfg the correct affinity mask value you should have with ht on. I did this same test with ht off (and the correct affinity mask) and I got overall 2-3 fps more with ht off. Why? I don't know. I guess it is just FSX's inefficient engine, but what I can say is that is what happened to me.As for sandy bridge, it is currently the best solution for fsx as it can overclock much higher than previous i7's. Also, due to the better architecture, it has even beaten previous gen 6 core i7's, including the 990x, in bench tests.

Is there a OC guide for best possible results using the p8p67-le motherboard? Im still getting dodgy performance from my 4.5ghz auto overclock using the asus bios. Is there a better way of doing this? Sorry to hijack the thread. Kind of related.

I guess this one is good since it is written by Asus:http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1578110Also, have you tweaked fsx?

Ive got the LE version of the p8p67 so most of those features arent available to me.
