April 24, 201115 yr Hello All, I recently bought Horizon's VFR Gen X scenery, Vol 3, Northern England off eBay second hand. I paid a moderate price and the goods are clearly original. My purpose of buying was to test one before deciding to buy the lot and I chose Northern England as it's where I live and also where I've flown in real world. With my purchase came the key code but Horizon refuse to acknowledge this as clearly it has been used by the original owner who has now moved on.Despite me emailing them and offering to prove the product, the purchase etc etc they refuse to offerthe support and updates. The issue I have is the product is crap. There is no nightlighting as this, according to the product, will be offered free later on, and most of the lake district us under water. ( not in the sense of there's lots of lakes you understand!!) Due to this I'm clearly not going to buy the rest of the products as they don't appear very good, but does anyone have any ideas as to how I can sort the problems with my current product? Many thanks, best wishes.
April 24, 201115 yr Buy the product new from a store rather than second, third or fourth hand off Ebay. If you had visited the Horizon forum before you purchased you would have seen that this policy of no second hand product support or updates has been in place ever since version 2 was released a few years ago.p.s. version 3 is about to be released in the very near future, so you way want to wait a little longer if you do decide to purchase after all. Cheers, Andy.
April 24, 201115 yr It appears that what you have bought is a very old copy of version 1. As Andy said, Horizon do not support second-hand product. It clearly states in the EULA that the scenery cannot be transferred. I'd suggest your best course of action is to go back to the seller on ebay and ask for a refund, as they were not entitled to sell it.
April 24, 201115 yr I bought all 3 volumes version 1 when it first came out. On the box it stated it included night lighting/water masks etc - it didn't.What occurred later was they released these to download but only via torrent. These updates, which should have been on the disks in the first place, can no longer be downloaded. On my next clearout these disks will be consigned to the trash where they belong.
