Not too sure where you got that from but that's not true.It doesn't look like Arkefly use a set CI - This is from yesterdays and todays flights.Yesterdays:JAF523P EHAM-EBBR = 25JAF523 EBBR-MDPC = 25JAF524 MDPC-EBBR = 20TFL363 EHAM-TNCC = 13TFL364 TNCC-TNCA = 13TFL364 TNCC-EHAM = 12TFL489 EHAM-HESH = 13TFL490 HESH-HEGN = 13TFL490 HEGN-EHAM = 11TFL449 EHAM-GBYD = 25TFL450 GBYD-EHAM = 22Todays:TFL335 EHAM-MUVR = 25TFL336 MUVR-EHAM = 19TFL367 EHAM-TNCC = 150TFL817 EHAM-LTAI = 13TFL818 LTAI-EHAM = 13

OK I've got to satisfy my curiosity! What is the cost index and where does it come in to using FS9?Bill

It's used to calculate the airplanes speed in the FMC on Boeing airplanes. Lower CI = Slower cruise speedI would like to know where Samufc got the figures for Arkefly! Please share....

CI only directly controls aircraft speed not fuel burn.Fuel can be estimated using the CI calculations using speed tables, winds, FL and weight of course.Something of note.... I'm betting with the CI there at 150 on the EHAM-TNCC route they were running pretty late.....I have a nice list of CI tables here for the 757/767 and the different engine variants that came with my Bulfer Big Boeing FMC guide. Interesting reading if your looking into getting it.What I would like to know is where Samufc gets the daily data for what Arkefly are using!

Boeing give a good description of Cost index here.http://www.boeing.co...07_article5.pdfCI = MIN results in maximum range airspeed and minimum trip fuel. This speed schedule ignores the cost of time. CI =MAX results in a minimum time speed schedule. This speed schedule calls for maximum flight envelope speeds, and ignores the cost of fuel.Airlines may use a different CI on different routes even for the same arircraft. It's unlikely that any airline uses a single figure.

Great link MGH. :( I think what Skinny was getting at was Lower speeds = less fuel burned.

Thanks mghYes maybe I used not the right word to say but that was exactly what I meant :(,

Thank you for the info guys any one no if Arkefly have a standard cost index on 763 do you think 25 or 13 is standard or if running late 150 must be normal I reckon 13 if early 25 if on time and 150 if they are very late regards Nick
