NO - I don't think so.I check fuel usage very carefully against my flight planning - I found no difference between GE and PW on the MD11.Same on the 3 engines on the 744 . . .Edit : Except the EPR scales for PW and/or RR versions

Hi All --- Big%20Grin.gif The only visible place to effect engine variation is in the "aircraft.cfg" file(excluding the *.air file). Based on remarks in the file, the nominal thrust is set there for all planes in that MD-11 type (pax or freight). It is possible that the FADEC coding has something in it, but I doubt it since the engines are all fairly similar in weight and thrust. Reviewing MD specifications on the different variants shows little change in maximum rated thrust across all standard engine types. Hope this helps --- Cheers --- Bob Big%20Grin.gif P.S. Lots of good info on the net about the various engines they used.

Yes, the difference between the PW and GE engines is simulated - it isn't a huge/noticeable thing, they're very similar.

Every now and then if I need a laugh, I do an empty payload, max performance take off in the PW variant and bump the thrust limit up to 62K. It might be purely subjective but I do feel like the aircraft has that tiny bit more oomph.

Hi Mark, the P&W 62K option in the PMDG MD11 is broken, not sure why they never fixed it. Next time you do a flight watch what happens when you select 62K, it will cancel itself on the take off roll.Regards

Rob, I'll have to look for that, I must confess I hadn't noticed.(...which is pretty embarrassing considering I tested it!)
