June 15, 201114 yr Has anyone else had any problems with their tachometer readings? I'm in the habit of logging my flight time using the Hobb's (if the plane has one) or by using Tach time and the Commander isn't logging it right. I just did a flight and noted that the tach read .5 before start up, after a flight of .8 hours I noted after shut down the tach read .3. I can see that it's not advancing the hour dial just the tenth of an hour dial since, considering that the ending time should have read 1.3 hours. Any ideas of how to fix this little problem? No other gripes from me, else-wise she's a wonderful plane! I belive I had this, though ignored due to work load/time to sleep. Will have a look this evening.
June 17, 201114 yr I have a beef. Not an important one in the scheme of things but it's starting to irritate me out of all proportion. The GPS, when it's switched off, has a nifty cover over it. It says Carenado on it! Now I love Carenado as much as the next guy but we/I can do without the subliminal advertising. I KNOW it's a Carenado for Pete's sake! I'm betting the real one says Garmin on it. If the textures were .dds I would be able to rectify it pretty quickly, but try as I might, I haven't got a handle on bitmaps. There, that feels better. :( The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

June 18, 201114 yr send me the file and I will do it for you.I would have thought this file reside inside the GPS gauge cab file. What a nice man. :( It's actually in textures common\carINcomander_f The World is divided into two groups. June 18, 201114 yr What a nice man. :( It's actually in textures common\carINcomander_flolAfter visiting Carenado site I saw it seem to be part of the model and not the GPS so yeah you right, it must be in the textures folders but at least you found it..2 versions have been send of to the doorman..
June 18, 201114 yr Much, much nicer. Sorry Carenado, but in the interests of immersion...Thanks Johan. Top man. :( The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
June 19, 201114 yr Much, much nicer. Sorry Carenado, but in the interests of immersion...Thanks Johan. Top man. :(No problem but I do not have the 114 to test it afterwards, so I only had the bitmap to work with and it looked OK on the bitmap. Thanks for the picture, but when I now look at that in the plane the "garmin" do look a bit "large". It is a bit dificult to get the composition right if you dont have the plane to test with afterwards.I have made another one with a bit smaller writing and have send it off to be tested.BTW.. The "garmin" here is as it is off their official site. I just took their logo and add it here..!! So it is authentic as you can getyou can grab them herehttp://www.mediafire.com/file/asuv6oaaqtyf29f/carINcomander_f_blank.zip Blank, Carenado just removedhttp://www.mediafire.com/file/jso3n7azic93va1/carINcomander_f_garmin.zip "Garmin" As in the picture abovehttp://www.mediafire.com/file/q2c5dq1c857bjwi/carINcomander_f_Garmin_smaller.zip "Garmin" as in picture above but smaller writing
June 19, 201114 yr Wow, thanks bliksimpie! I agree with Ron that Carenado GPS cover took away from it a bit. It kind of reminds me of how Captain Sim puts their logo everywhere in their planes. Not to be a nag, but had anyone looked into the tachometer not correctly logging engine hours in this plane? I've done a few hours of flights since my last post and it's still giving me erroneous readings.
June 19, 201114 yr This file goes in: FlightSimulatorX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado Commander 114\texture.commonIn case you were wondering. :smile:Johan, you're right, the smaller one looks better. :( The World is divided into two groups. June 20, 201114 yr Hi all ;)I have purchased this aircraft few days ago, and I love it but have "little" problem with NAV and autopilot (it's very hard to explain for non native English speaker, so please be forgiving), when I'm trying to capture some radial, I wont give you exact numbers but let's say 270 the aircraft first turns to for example heading 290 but instead of capturing R270 it continues flying that heading until needle moves one dot in opposite direction, then it turns to heading 250 and again instead of capturing R270 it continues flying heading 250, this repeats two or three times before it will finally capture the radial. Those might be just limits of automation on such small aircraft, but since I'm not RW pilot I thought it wont hurt to ask if anyone have similar problem. Uff, I hope it makes any sense in English ;)Best regards,
June 22, 201114 yr ...Not to be a nag, but had anyone looked into the tachometer not correctly logging engine hours in this plane? I've done a few hours of flights since my last post and it's still giving me erroneous readings.I haven't noticed it it, but I pay no attention to it. I'll have a look and get back but I suspect it is yet another one of those Carenado things. Sigh. Anyone heard anything about the clock getting fixed? I wrote to Carenado and they said it would be fixed...soon. That was a while back, mind you.Cheers,Fritz
June 23, 201114 yr I haven't noticed it it, but I pay no attention to it. I'll have a look and get back but I suspect it is yet another one of those Carenado things. Sigh. Thanks for looking into it Fritz. I understand not many really look at the tach for anything more than setting the RPM. I'm just in the habit of looking at it before the flight, during flight and after like I would in real life. Hehe, you wouldn't believe how happy I get when I see a developer install a Hobbs meter in their planes. :(
June 23, 201114 yr Warrior, about the Hobbs meter. You're absolutely right, it's completely up the spout. The numbers don't show when they should or what they should. E.g;, if an hour has sixty minutes and the meter mesures in 10ths, then 1/10 of an hour is 6 minutes, you would agree. Well, sometimes it is but you can't be sure in the 114. Sometimes it takes 12 minutes for the counter to roll over. Anyway, I don't know what could be wrong but all of a sudden my meter reads 0000 hours. It wasn't like that yesterday. In short, it's bust.Cheers,Fritz
