Heads up -> i7-2600k for $229.99 at Microcenter

Featured Replies

Go to the microcenter home page and refresh until you see the following deal. I had to hit refresh 10 or 15 times before it came up. If that doesn't do it, try it in a new tab. It still shows up as $279.99 in the cart, so I guess the deal hasn't gone live just yet. It never hurts to print the $229.99 advertisement out and see if they will honor it in-store.2600k.jpg

Good thing you took a screenshot, I can't get that ad up at all and I must've refreshed the page 30 times by now.

Well it says in-store only, shame the closest one to me is an entire state away.

That's the case with all of their CPU prices. The thing is, the price doesn't show up anymore so it's not likely to be valid (at least not yet) so it's a moot point where the closest store is in relation to your location.

Perhaps the banner got posted prematurely. As I said, if you live really close to a microcenter, it never hurts to print it out and see if they will honor it. Otherwise keep your eyes peeled and maybe it will be officially up soon.

I built my entire rig from Microcenter, saved over $200 over Newegg. Factor in what shipping might have cost me and I have possibly saved over $300. Microcenter is a nice place, they sell FSX addons as well.

Good point! I've purchased PMDG's 747-400x Queen of the Skies add-on there, as well as FSX Gold both for $30 each. They've got a lot of Abacus stuff that most serious simmers prefer to avoid, but they carry a few high quality add-ons from PMDG and Captain Sim, among others. My friend picked up the 757 Captain product not long ago for I believe also $30. A few decent GA planes too, I often see the Aerosoft DHC-6 Twin Otter on the shelves along with a few others. I buy most of my hardware there as well out of convenience. The price isn't always less than Newegg but it's close enough to justify the added convenience more often than not, IMHO.

I need to get in there sometime! Maybe plan a day trip and make my friends split the flight? The closest is in Atlanta. Anyone have comments on the two located there?

That's a steal... I almost want to buy one as a backup to my 2500k. Of course I spend about 40 bucks in gas to get to MSP and back...
