FSX: extreme autogen pop-up

Featured Replies

I recently bought a new rig: Intel 2600k, GTX 570 Twinfrozr III OC and 8gb memory. In my old system I used fs9 but I bought this new computer to fly in fsx. I have FSX and Acceleration pack installed. In fsx I have perfect FPS, no stutters and a smooth flight. All options in FSX are maxed out (except traffic). There is only one problem I can't address: When flying my default loaded flight (KSEA, day, default runway) and I take off, the autogen towards Seattly downtown and Boeing Field is popping up very fast. It goes in fast steps and therefor I have extreme autogen popping up. Is there a way to solve this popping up of autogen scenery?I know that fsx is different from fs9. I have read all topics there are about autogen but I don't see my particular problem discussed. The fact is that I have a very good system but I can't seem to get rid of the autogen popping up.

Hi,What you didn't see is any discussion on alpha fade and the fact that FSX is missing this, while FS9 has it in place. That is what causes the difference in the actions and there are no work arounds. MS tried to get alpha fade back into FSX, but they ran out of time and resources to make it happen. I think it distracts so much that I have my auto-gen turned off in FSX.

I know there is no alpha fase in fsx but is there any way to optimize fsx so that there are no pop ups? For example a tweak to increase minimum drawing distance for autogen. Now it pops up really close to the aircraft.

I would say he suffers from the same problem I have: "typing faster than the speed of mind".Regards, Mike Mann

Tee-hee, I fixed it!! Usually my auto spell checker in Chrome does a better job!!

Yea, this popping up is realy annoying, so I had to turn off autogen as well, and it looks much better than before. I dont have any payware scenery so dont know if payware sceneries would optimize this popping up thing. But now I have another problem, slow shaping mountains and hills in horizon, not close ones but far ones. If you fly in 30000feet, it can be very annoying. My question is If I buy a mesh addon, like FSGlobal X 2010, could I get rid of this slow shaping mountain and hills ? Thanks
