June 4, 201115 yr If you are like me and after seeing that the Majestic Software Dash 8-300 is on sale, rushed to buy it, let me give you a heads up. If you are a Win7 X64 user like me (this is probably true for all Win7 versions and Vista) do NOT left click on the installation button. RIGHT CLICK and it will bring up a dialogue box. Select "Install as administrator." If you do this, you will save yourself the 24 hours of frustration I have just gone through trying to get it to work. But once you do have it installed, it really is as good as people have said it isCheersIan
June 4, 201115 yr I didnt even now it was on sale, Thanks Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
June 5, 201114 yr It seems 'right-click - install as admin' is a universal 'gotcha' with Vista/7 that catches a lot of folks who think UAC off is enough. Regards, Mark
June 5, 201114 yr Is it still on sale? Seems to be listed at full retail at the Majestic site and the various retail outlets I frequent. John G.
June 6, 201114 yr Author It seems 'right-click - install as admin' is a universal 'gotcha' with Vista/7 that catches a lot of folks who think UAC off is enough.Yes, I have just found that out. I sure wish I had known about 200 installations ago! LOL Is it still on sale? Seems to be listed at full retail at the Majestic site and the various retail outlets I frequent.I'm not certain it's still on sale but try purchasing it from Majestic and see what price it comes up with once it's in your "shopping cart." I don't remember how the discount (30%) worked but it's worth taking a look. I did notice that it was still being sold at the normal price on other outlets while Majestic had it on sale... I'm finding it has some quirks but also has some outstanding features and is definitely worth having IMHOIs it still on sale? June 8, 201114 yr What tpye of hardware are you using for the throttles? I bought and installed this aircraft about a year ago and could never fly it because it would NOT work with my GoFlight throttles. What are you using? jerrycwo4

What are you using? jerrycwo4HelloThe dash-8 works fine with goflight throttles, in fact any dual throttle unit.Just do NOT use the Goflight Config software, only set it up in FS9/FSX assignments or better still a registered Fsuipc. You need to map your throttles to engines three and four, not to one and two as you would normally do for a twin engine aircraft. This is due to the programming that Olesky had to do to get realistic engine behaviour in the Dash-8.It should be in the documentation and also mentioned on the Support forum.Do this and the aircraft WILL work with your throttles.
