June 29, 201114 yr Take a look at the ND, someone. I'm going perfectly straight and level, and although it looks like it's trying to intercept the track, and then make a left bank to align, that's not the case. It maintains this attitude, never passes the track, makes every turn there is at every waypoint, and I did an autoland, and it placed me to the left of the runway, on the grass, way off the runway. I've flown this before, and everything was perfect with the plane going perfectly aligned with the track. I've flown it over and over, doing either an autoland or a non-precision approach, and each time, everything's been perfect until recently. I noticed this first after doing the Magnetic Variation update, so I thought I must have done something wrong. I replace the new file with the backup I made of the original file, but no change. Then I thought it was maybe because of the 25-knot crosswind, but when I turned at the CCC waypoint and headed almost opposite direction, instead of the magenta line going to the right, it remained to the left as if I was 'crabbing' in the direction of the wing instead of into it. Unless I fly a visual approach, the guidance is incorrect, and places me way off the runway to the left.Anyone ever had this situation before? Please I need help. Chidiebere Anyahara
June 29, 201114 yr Commercial Member Here's the standard reply on this that I send at support - this should fix the problem:===========This issue is probably occurring because your FS entries are missing from the Windows registry. Please download Flight 1's Registry Repair Tool found here:http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryRun it (IMPORTANT: make sure you right click and choose Run As Administrator if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7) and select the option appropriate to the version of FS you're having issues with. Then, browse to that version of FS's folder and select the main exe file (either FS9.exe or FSX.exe) and press open. June 29, 201114 yr Mine's been doing that to (been ignoring it because I haven't been flying it much), just downloaded the registry dealy, thanks Ryan, gonna try it now see if it worked. Rick Butler Rainbow Lake Alberta, Canada
June 29, 201114 yr The Magdec.bgl was corrupted in my installation of FSX. Repair it by using the files pinned above in this subforum.
June 29, 201114 yr Doesn't this have anything to do with the true or magnetic heading switch? Sagga Toure
June 29, 201114 yr Author I just downloaded the repair tool and it fixed the problem. Thank you so much. Chidiebere Anyahara
June 29, 201114 yr Seems to be working for me as well. Thanks Ryan. Rick Butler Rainbow Lake Alberta, Canada
June 29, 201114 yr Just wondering.... What REG entries can have that effect in the sim? <---------------> Mike Murawski
June 29, 201114 yr Commercial Member It's the FSX path one (FS9 will do it too) - the plane's gauge locates the path to the magnetic variation data through that registry key. The NGX does not do this and this won't be an issue with it... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
June 29, 201114 yr Author Doesn't this have anything to do with the true or magnetic heading switch?Nope. I thought so at first, but flipping the switch didn't fix it. Chidiebere Anyahara

June 29, 201114 yr I fixed the issue by takinging the MAGDEC file and put it as the first entry in the scenery library. Jim D.

June 30, 201114 yr Author You have a 25kt crosswind coming at you... I know. That's why I thought the plane was crabbing. But I'd flown it before over and over with the same 25-knot crosswind. Also, when after passing the CCC waypoint, I made the 'U-Turn", the crosswind was in the opposite direction, but instead of the crabbing into the wind, it still maintained it's attitude. Anyways like I said earlier it's now corrected with the reg repair tool, as you can see in the attachment Chidiebere Anyahara
