July 5, 201114 yr Mind, you also need to understand you don't own the software as you are only licensed to use itI believe when refering to my intended XP install i did say 'Buy another licence' My point is that it seems a little over the top to remove a os (licence) which i paid for from a motherboard and install another os which i paid for and have to buy two more licences. One for the pc that the board was removed from and one for the pc that it is going to, sitting right beside it. Furthermore i would be forced to pay for another OEM licence as you cant buy a XP retail dvd anymore and like mad dog, i cannot use W7 on my general purpose pc for software reasons. Anyhow, if i was running around letting all my friends use my cd, i would certainly be flaunting the law and i believe that primarily, those are the people they are targeting.Regards, Rick Hobbs

July 5, 201114 yr I'll send you cigarettes if you guys get imprisoned or something, but don't spend them all in crack!

If the situation was the other way around with you as the seller, you would be saying: "Not fair, I gave you my software to use and now that you have my software you are no longer adhering to the terms of the contract!".The one relief you could get (besides switching to X-Plane under Linux, but you still have to pay for X-Plane!) is for the courts to deem the license terms as abusive due to Microsoft's market domination and get relief in the form of a class-action lawsuit that lets you relax the abusive constraints in that license agreement.Cheers,- jahman.

It is the arguement that it should be enforced against somebody that (here we go again) is just using the software exculively for their own pesonal enjoyment. Anyhow to put this one to bed for me, i am thankful that Microsoft is farely lenient when it comes to the small guy and i do not abuse that. Furthermore, when the next version of Windows arrives i will be getting my credit card out as usual.Regards, Rick Hobbs
