GA payware with MFD/EFD panels

Featured Replies

i'd like to try a GA non jet payware that has an EFD 500 and a EFD 1000 (not sure if these are the correct model numbers). Most preferably in a VC cockpit. i have been flying steam gauges and would like to "move up". please....no airliners or executive jets (if possible).thanks.........Bill

The C182 from Flight1 would have been my first tip too, a great a/c and I'm totally with Shane there. It offers the best non-addon G1000 in a plane so far.Other, less detailed (than the Flight1), G1000 renditions can be found in the Eaglesoft DA-42, the Lionheart Quest Kodiak or the Iris DA-42 and DA-40. The Milviz C310 offers a panel with the G1000 or a free one for the addon G1000 from Mindstar. Some of those birds are more or less based on the FSX default G1000, so you can already access that gauge if you have Gold or Deluxe installed. But I'd recommend to test some of the planes which come with 30 day money back guarantee to discover your personal bias there. All things sold via the Flight1 system offer this money back thingy.Be aware that those detailed glass things sometimes eat some fps. A matter of fact, so to speak.

your right...i have been researching the 182's and .they do eat FPS. i may hold off since i only have a dual core at 3.0 ghz. but the 182 will go on my wish list for the future. many thanks.

Any glass GA will eat fps - they all eat mine even though I've got a powerful system, it's just the nature of the gauge.

If you do, also invest in Max Trescott's GPS and WAAS Flying Handbook. It tells you everything you need to know.http://www.maxtrescott.com/max_trescott_on_general_a/2009/07/new-max-trescotts-gps-and-waas-instrument-flying-handbook-.htmlorhttp://www.bookmasters.com/marktplc/10346.htm
