July 15, 201114 yr Windows 7 Ultimate is not necessary, just personal choice. To find out about the additional features in windows 7 ultimate compared to pro you should check on the Microsoft website. Kepti, In your settings i noticed you had lens flare on. You should try turning this off as for what its worth it has a rather large FPS hit. Also people have been saying that the FPS hit of the NGX is similar to the MD-11, well whats that like compared to say the CS757 or AS320/1. July 15, 201114 yr I get acceptable framerates in the PMDG Jetstream 4100 almost everywhere with my Horizon GenX3 photoscenery/UK2000 Xtreme + VFR Airfields/Treescapes UK/Ultimate Traffic 2 combo. The only locations where I struggle are Heathrow Xtreme, VFR London X, and ES Shawbury Fields. I have all of my detail sliders set to MAXIMUM, apart from water effects (Medium 2x). This is running FSX at 1280x1024 resolution (full screen) on an Acer V193 19" monitor, and using the PC system listed below...Asus P5K-SE MotherboardIntel Core 2 Quad Q9550 CPU @ 2.83Ghz4GB PC2-8500 RAM512MB GeForce 9800GTWindows Vista64This system will be three years old in October, and yet it still offers me half decent performance in FSX, despite the fact that the CPU is operating at the stock frequency. In addition to the PMDG Jetstream, I also use the Flight1 Mustang, RealAir Beechcraft Duke, and Captain Sim Boeing 707. The latter is my most recent purchase, and framerates are still pretty decent, even though it has super high resolution VC textures. To be honest, the only consideration I have at the moment is whether I should increase system RAM and/or VRAM to reduce texture loading times and stutters. Maybe someone could enlighten me as to whether I would see an improvement in that department (at complex airports like Heathrow Xtreme and super detailed scenery addons like ES Shawbury Fields) if I increased my system RAM to 6GB, and purchased a graphics card with 1GB VRAM?PS. It's worth noting that UT2 is set to only 25% for both airliners and GA at the moment. July 15, 201114 yr ...TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=40...I would ramp it up to perhaps 70 or 80, although I doubt that you would see much of a difference in regards to framerate Johan Pettersen
July 15, 201114 yr Okay guys, now I managed to learn how to overclock with a tutorial - now I've got my i7 2600k runnin @4,2 GHz with reasonable temperatures. I tried 4,3 but somehow the temperatures of the CPU was over 90 celsius... Quite high actually so I had to drop. What comes to performance, Brussels is still 20FPS. I tried the PMDG JS41 in FlyTampa LOWW scenery, and in VC over apron it gave me over 30 which is at least for me very smooth and great experience. Same happened at Flightbeam KSFO... So the Brussels is quite heavy one!Testing continues and I'll try to rise the CPU clocking even more with extra cooling, we'll see. Thanks again for all of you!
