July 28, 201114 yr Good morning,Hopefully some FSX users can help me. I'm running FSX on my 22" 1680x1050 monitor and I have a 2nd Samsung 20" running at 1600x900.Because I use other programs while playing Flight Sim like web, email, fsc etc, I play FSX in window mode and get roughly 20-30fps with addon scenery and aircraft like Quality Wings 757.For example I was flying around the Fly Tampa Scenery, Ultimate Terrain X USA & QW 757 in window mode with bad weather was averaging 20fps looking at the airport; as soon as I switch to full mode I get 47fps with FPS locked at 60fps.I believe that I read somewhere that if you buy a DVI-USB adapter FSX will recognise my 2nd monitor and allow me to run other programs on it, is this correct? Is there any other solution to this problem?Any ideas?Cheers, i7-4790K @ 4.4ghz/ Asus ROG Strix GTX1080ti 11GB/16GB DDR3-1600 Kingston Hyper X Savage/Asus Maximus VII Ranger/Corsair H80i AIO Cooler/Corsair 780T Case

If you have a second video out at you gfx card, just attach the new monitor to it and you´re good to go. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
July 28, 201114 yr Doesn't that graphics card have a second output? Upon further research it does! His hardware is in his signature. As stated, hook up that second monitor, activate it through the graphics card control panel and off you go.

July 29, 201114 yr You probaby could use Vsync if I am not wrong. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
July 29, 201114 yr It is meant for the refresh rate as you probably using full screen and jumping to a windowed mode you need to just try Vsync under fsx.cfg and see if it helps. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
July 29, 201114 yr Moderator I think the OP is asking if there's a way around the black second monitor when running FSX in full screen mode. The answer is no. If you wish to use the second monitor for anything other than panel gauges, you must be in windowed mode. and Vsync has nothing to do with this. July 29, 201114 yr Oh it was for using the second display sorry did not read and understand the post clearly. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

Vic Second monitor is blak when flying FSX in full screen? On my system I can fly FS9 in full screen an th second monitor shows the desktop. Don´t know whether this is different in FSX.To the OP: Did you set "extend Desktop to both screens" in the control panel? Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h

July 29, 201114 yr All, We don't even know if the OP has the second monitor hooked up to his FSX computer yet.
July 30, 201114 yr I have the same problem. At the moment on my 24" monitor I have FSX windowed. On my 22" monitor I have Plan-G running. Is it not possible to have FSX full screen without the second monitor going black so I can continue to run Plan-G? Some people seem to be having trouble understanding the OP's question.
July 30, 201114 yr The only way to run a second monitor in FSX and be able to see the desktop to run other programs is in 'windowed' mode. Some have found that setting the FPS to unlimited AND moving the taskbar to the second monitor greatly improves their performance. If you have a second computer the other option is to run the other programs on it, using either Simconnect or FSUPIC. Jay
