Im running a 64bit Win 7 so i know i have to put that file into the FSX folder. My question: How exactly do I go about doing this? I've heard i have to shift right click "open command prompt here"; I've heard you just paste it into the FSX folder, I really need detailed instructions on what exactly to do... thanks for the help! - Mitch

No need to double post. Just copy and paste it already and (hopefully) get on with some flying :)http://forum.avsim.n...-my-fsx-folder/
Haha, Im sorry! Im just not good with computer stuff and I keep hearing contradicting info. 2 more questions though! 1.) Do I need to delete any files? 2.) Do I just paste it into the FSX file under microsoft games or do i do the "Open command window here" route?

What problems are you having with FSX that makes you believe you need to move that file?If you defrag monthly Win7 will find it with no problem. You shouldn't be moving operating system files if you don't know what you are doing.I have installed FSX on XP32, Vista32, Vista64, and 3 computers with Win764. Not once have I needed to move that file and they all ran great! Dave

I have never had a CTD so I am not sure how to fix it. FSX needs a I7 PC oc'd above 3.7 ghz, 6 ghz fast memory, and a very good 1 ghz video card, to run smooth with max sliders. A good laptop will need to be toned down to get smooth operation. What are your specs? FSX in it's own drive/file? Not C:\Program Files. Dave I think you have mis understood what the OP is trying to do. He is not moving system files around. He has to downloadUIAutomationCore.dll and place in the FSX root folder. It is to stop menu CTD's that most users experience. One oexample would be flying the lvld 767, and acesssing menu in full screen a number of times causes a black screen. There is heaps of information regarding this on most FSX forums including this one.

Here is a good MS Technet discussion on the issue and the fix, along with a more severe fix at the end:- http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproappcompat/thread/fb1808ff-92f0-478b-9826-f2ed6fbeae97

THIS is the answer I was looking for!!! Do you have to extract the files from it then drop it? or Do you leave it "zipped up"? Thanks for the help!!!

My specs are: quad core i7 2.2ghz (turbo boost to 3.3); 8gb of RAM 7200RPM; 1.5GB vid card PS When you refer to a memory card, do you refer to what it is with the turbo boost? In other words is my memory card a 2.2 or a 3.3?
