Help with WOAI please

Featured Replies

For some time now I have never been very happy with the AI traffic in FSX. I have just installed about 15 packages using WOAI. The problem I seem to have is even with the sliders set at about 80/90% there still seems to be a great shortage of airline traffic at an airport. The other thing I have noticed is that they virtually all seem to be static. eg. Yesterday I started at Canberra with sliders at 80% and Qantas and Virgin etc loaded in the library. I noticed all of them were parked around the hub with only one aircraft moving along the runway. Is this normal or is there something I should look out for? Any advice or help will be very much appreciated. Cheers guys.

If your AFCAD file for Canberra is the default, then I would say that it is simply an issue of having too few airline packages installed. Even with the airlines you listed, unless you are at a very busy international airport you will only see a few of the aircraft taxi takeoff or land, as that would closely reflect their real world schedules.

I did my PPL at Canberra a few moons ago but I don't think that it has changed much. You can wait a few hours with totally empty gates between "Gate" sized aircraft aircraft arriving and then its usually in a flurry then all goes quiet again.

Hi Rockliffe, You really have to download all of the WOAI aircraft, yes it remained the biggest task I have done and yes you have to change the time of day to find when there is movement, you will find that there is a ton of smaller aircraft like qantaslink and some regional airlines plus, Tiger, Qantas, Virgin, V Australia, then Singapore, Thai, well keep going mate download as many as you can and then try different times of the day, you will soon find when they are arriving and departures etc. Remember this, I tried to get the time for an aircraft taking off and I went 2 min after it would of been taxiing then the it was gone, you have to let them naturally taxi etc to continue seeing them, so yes you sometimes have to wait a bit but most importantly there is still many aircraft you need to download. Make yourself a list of every woai aircraft and cross them off as you download them, this way you know which ones you need to download. Then make sure you use AI Flight planner or TTools to convert the Scenery\World\Scenery WOA_***.BGLS to FSX, using Ai Flight Planner allows you to change them from FS9 to FSX and it can delete the FS9 versions, as FS9 BGLS stop FSX from showing the AI as well, I wish you well.

If you had fs9, you could install WOAI into it and then use ACA2005 to get a full timetable for YSCB, but I don't know of a way to get ACA2005 to look at FSX instead. You can load traffic files one-at-a-time into AIFP2 and get a YSCB timetable that way, but you have to cycle through all your WOAI traffic files AFAIK. scott s..

Sheesh, what a lot of trouble! I think I will consider one of the payware offerings. I think something has gone wrong, as yesterday I flew from several Orbx airports in NA, with the GA slider set at 90% and there was no GA anywhere!! Can anyone suggest what may have gone wrong, thanks. PS. I have now installed about three or four dozen packages. However, I did not know about changing the files into FSX Straight%20Face.gif I simply installed them from Avsim straight into FSX using the WOAI installer. What would be the best course of action guys to rectify this?
