August 4, 201114 yr I am considering buying this aircraft, but I have a unique situation with the MD-11. When I load the aircraft there's a 15 second pause for the panel to load. I have a triple-head display, and this plays havoc with my panel configs etc... It has essentially made the MD-11 unflyable for me. I was wondering if the NGX has the same panel loading screen. If so I will probably pass on the AC, but if not, then it's a must buy. Thanks
August 4, 201114 yr I do not represent PMDG in any way, so I have no guarantee that my answer is correct, but I think it's been stated that the NG will have a 15 sec or similar loading time for the whole lot to initialize.
August 4, 201114 yr Can't you start the sim in windowed mode and then Alt + Enter after it loads? --Isaac Magalhaes Isaac Magalhaes
August 4, 201114 yr Someone did ask this a while ago and from memory Tabs said it will have the initialization phase like the MD-11, sorry. Jay Vorkapic
August 4, 201114 yr Commercial Member yes, there is an initial setup phase, that is unavoidable as much of the systems are developed outside of the normal FSX systems. we do have testers with multiple displays (I have two) and have had no problems at all. - Jane Whittaker
August 4, 201114 yr It's the price one has to pay for pure quality! Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
August 4, 201114 yr I have triple head too but I always start windowed on centre screen. I do all flight planning & then go full view. Not had a problem with md11 doing it this way. I always start from the free flight page with md11 as the default aircraft. Not sure if this will help you. Mike Summers
August 5, 201114 yr Author I just wanted to get back here and post this: I went ahead and got the 737 and did some panel.cfg tweaks and everything works PERFECTLY first time out, all the panels look good and are sized correctly and the plane looks gorgeous with no ******* blinking, frame-rate stealing cursor when I try to bring up a 2d panel. I don't know if it's luck or prudent planning, but my hat is off to you guys, I can fly this amazing plane with my triple head display and really get to know and learn this plane. great job guys. EDIT: if anyone needs my panel.cfg just PM Me, I'll happily share the joy.
