August 5, 201114 yr As PMDG said when you over heat your brakes then retract your gear it sets off the fire warning but to top it off if you have the steel brakes installed and over heat them they suffer from brake fading. Full brakes max reverse full flaps spoilers yet I still couldn't stop at KRNT because the brakes were suffering from brake fading. I slid into the water! The things that are modeled in the NGX makes it a complete fun to fly addon!
August 5, 201114 yr Sounds awesome. Hey, you got the same CPU with the same sort of clock, what FPS are you getting with an Addon airport or something. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
August 5, 201114 yr Is there a possibility to check the actual state of your brakes (of course after they have cooled down e.g. after a RTO). I guess in reality you can go by the look of the brakes itself, however I cannot imagine that this would be modeled.... regards, Christopher Volle Regards, Chris Volle i7700k @ 4,7, 32gb ram, Win10, MSI GTX1070.
August 5, 201114 yr Author I haven't tried any addon airports but I get about 22 FPS in the cockpit and the external like 40FPS to 45(its locked at 45) I am still in the process of find the sweet spot for tweaking. I lowered the AA and it helped a whole ton. In the VC in the seattle area I get 18 to 24 FPS but for some reason that area lags my game. Just did a quick takeoff at EGLL and it was like 20 to 30FPS and this was before the AA decrease. Just keep in mind I haven't kept a good track of my FPS and also my FSX isn't exactly perfectly tuned. If you can run the MD11 or any other PMDG product fine you should be fine Is there a possibility to check the actual state of your brakes (of course after they have cooled down e.g. after a RTO). August 5, 201114 yr Other than temps, I don't think so. I guess then we have to start writing something like a logbook to keep track of such occurences. This is getting better and better.... Regards, Chris Volle i7700k @ 4,7, 32gb ram, Win10, MSI GTX1070.
August 5, 201114 yr yeah that's a fail lol, Thus is gonna sound crazy but im gonna buy a new computer for this plane :L......well not just for the NGX but for FSX in general i would love to use FSX at ultra high with maxed out at UK2000 Heathrow with the NGX at like 50fps :D. Regards Michael Atherton

Think you'd need a pretty expensive high end machine for that... I get similar FPS to Taylor, and even though it sounds low, in reality, flying the NGX is pretty smooth. August 5, 201114 yr On the lower DU you only see the temperature off the brake, not how worn they are.
August 5, 201114 yr The brake thing caught me out too, could hardly keep the NGX still with even the slightest throttle movement! Got to watch out for that... or change to carbon brakes?! Regards,Alan Norris Live Video Stream : http://www.twitch.tv/aystertv
August 5, 201114 yr I had the fire warning light after take off from YMML. The first thing i thought was engine fire and looked out side in side and all the clock but now i know! August 5, 201114 yr On the lower DU you only see the temperature off the brake, not how worn they are. I think PMDG developed the NGX more in the eyepoint of the pilot, this saying that the pilot handles failures in flight etc,... seeing how worn the brakes are, is something for the technicians! These brakes are actually located in the tires, in the wheel 'rims', so that would require you to take off the whole 'tire' http://www.aviationenterprises.co.nz/site/images/158360.JPG
August 5, 201114 yr A pilot on walkarond they check the worn off the brake, if the "pin" is flush with the steel then they shall be removed, and insert new one.
