Able to change engine models?

Featured Replies

Hey Guys, Quick question.. Is there a way to change engine models e.g. 26K, 24K, 27K. Couldn't seem to find the answer in the manual.

The 26K engine is used in the NGX and that's what comes standard from Boeing on the 800 and 900. The performance data on the other engines with these airframes are not available - it's made on a custom basis for airlines who order non-standard engine ratings and is tailored specific to their airplane configuration. You can derate the thrust to the lower engine ratings in the takeoff and climb phases on the N1 REF page.

Ryan, there is no way of getting the 27K engines? The reason I asked,Caribbean Airlines uses the 27K and I wanted to use the same with the NGX Caribbean Airlines livery.

Thanks Armen but I was hoping you could select the rating of the engine as an option and it displays in the FMC as 27K.

Also some of Virgin Australia recently delivered 737-800's have 24K engines so each time I use one of those rego's I still have to use 26K engines.

No you can't have 27K as the normal thrust. You can only have 27K if you select it on the N1 page in the CDU. Post #5 above clearly states that.
