APU Sound?

Featured Replies

Hello, Sorry if I'm just spoiled with "other" addons.Should we hear APU sturtup, and APU sound in cockpit? Also other addons have battery sound. Is this as it should be or do I have sound issues? Best regards,Danko

you got your FSX sound settings to 50% apart from ai traffic..

I may be wrong but I don't think you can hear the APU while in the cockpit, and this is the same case with the 747 and MD-11.

Danko, no you can't hear the APU in the cockpit - but you can outside, aswell as the fuel pumps, hydraulic pumps, pack inlet outlets, starter truck and ground air sounds. Haha spoiled by other addons ? Thats a funny one! smile.png Other addons may have battery sounds - We have electric sounds / recirc fan sounds and pack sounds where the loudness is proportional to duct pressure / hydraulic sounds based on electric hydraulic pumps on or off / sounds of the fuel pumps as per the real aircraft - and all behaving correctly when you turn the correct switches on. All in all we have over FIVE HUNDRED unique sounds in our aircraft. Have a look at this vid for more info! http://www.youtube.c...u/1/8KBRETk3ra0 You'll find that PMDG is spoiling you and not the other addons!!!! smile.png

Armen, your work has set the bar up into the stratosphere! We feel like we are in a real life breathing thing, not a canned static simulation. This may be one of those questions where I already know the answer, but can we assume that the engine sound will be a little louder in the cockpit in the 600/700 series? And will the 600 be a bit louder than the 700, accounting for the even shorter fuselage?

Thanks Danko! A.J - yes the -700 and even more so the -600 will have louder engine sounds for sure! smile.png Cheers,

Take the opportunity to say congratulations Armen, Ryan and the rest of the team by the absolutely perfect job on the sounds of the NGX.The NGX has many qualities, some are near perfection, but the sound is undoubtedly the best of NGX.Thanks for the effort put into it.
