August 8, 201114 yr Hi! As you can see I´m above 3000ft over the sea, heading for the LOC 25R in LEBL. I got steady pull up warnings and see the terrain ND which comes on automatically. What is going on here??? Thanks,Holger Holger Mute
August 8, 201114 yr did you arrive at LEBL or decided to turn around and land after takeoff as your waypoint that its heading for is XAMUR, so i am assuming your system thinks you are heading there not for rwy 25L at LEBL I may be wrong but thats what your picture suggests Dave
August 8, 201114 yr Author No, I´m arriving LEBL on HDG vectors (online at VATSIM). Take a look at the center of the ND, the small red and the yellow indication close to the aircraft symbol. This area is over the sea. How can that be? Thanks,Holger Holger Mute
August 8, 201114 yr Those are TCAS TAs (Traffic Advisories) You probably either had traffic super close, or it was a squawkbox screw up.

No, they're not, he's right - that's the terrain alarm, and the radar seems to think that there's high ground of some 9,500 feet just ahead of him. Does toggling the TERR on and off & repainting the terrain on your radar do anything? Possibly an error in the terrain database. Ben Kolbeck
August 8, 201114 yr Author Ok thanks, There was no traffic very close to me and I´m using FSINN. After landing at the gate the whole area (display) was colored in red which is normaly of course not the case. I did three flights on VATSIM before and it has never happened before. Weird ..... August 8, 201114 yr I experienced similar problem. It's more than obvious that terrain database is not to accurate. I hope they will fix it, but its not big deal after all, that is VMC condition, you do not really need terrain displayed on ND, if its not the test (as it is). Lj. It's a terrain database. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
August 8, 201114 yr Author In my case it seems to be generelly okay. I did a local circuit at LEBL with ntention to reproduce the problem. This time is was okay as you can see on the pic. Hmm, probaly a kind of memory effect after longer flights..... hmmmm? What do the developers think? Thank you very much,Holger Holger Mute
August 8, 201114 yr Hi, today I experienced the same after a long session of flight (EDDL - LOWI, LOWI - EDDL, EDDL - LEPA, LEPA - EDDL). During my last approach at EDDL I had the same issue. I pulled the TERR INHIBIT to not get to confused during final approach. Maybe Holger is right assuming that this effect is due to memory mess up?!?!? Freddy FREDERIK STEINER
August 8, 201114 yr Author I pulled the TERR INHIBIT to not get to confused during final approach. Where is it located? Thanks,Holger Holger Mute
August 8, 201114 yr I think that the second picture above posted by Holger is correct. The terrain ahead looks like it matches the terrain display on the ND, although I don't see any terrain that would cause a red on the right (maybe I can't see it because the compass is blocking the view). I have used a real terrain display before, and trust me, everything in the ND is displaying correctly in the second picture. I don't know about the first picture. You will have to ask a developer or contact support for that. Hope that helps! Good luck! Henry C.(Made by MM7)
August 8, 201114 yr Where is it located? Thanks,Holger Hi, it's located at the FOs side right under the DUs. Freddy FREDERIK STEINER
August 8, 201114 yr Could this be a corrupted configuration file for the EGPWS that's causing this terrain alert while you're flying over the ocean? Henry C.(Made by MM7)
