Terrain ND - What is that?

Could this be a corrupted configuration file for the EGPWS that's causing this terrain alert while you're flying over the ocean?
I don´t know. As you can see on the second pic it isn´t generally corrupted. Seems so that the problem only takes place on longer flights and not when I just do a local circuit, short leg or so. Yesterday evening I did a flight from EGGP to LPFR (2,5h) and again I got pull up alerts and the terrain ND came on automaticlly when I was flying the ILS approach RWY28 (no hills or similar things which could cause it!) Weird .... Any idea from the developers?

I had the same happen when I was approaching Barcelona from the South. Since the terrain warning is reading the installed mesh I suspect that these false positives are invisible level-of-detail spikes in the mesh.

I got an erroneous EGWPS warning as well while on the ILS 16R approach into SEA and again when taking off from 16L immediately at the end of the runway.

Terrain peaks mode allows you to see the terrain when you are still in flight, so the ND wouldn't be blank for most of the time you're in the air. Try turning terrain peaks off via the FMC. It's the page on the FMC that is displayed on PMDG's Fly on the Fly video on youtube. Go to the end of the page and find the option Terrain peaks mode ON. Press the LSK button to make it say off. Hope that helps!

I think that EGPWS terrain warning do not read installed mesh. Lj. Prodanovic

I think that too, I think it is based on the standard FSX terrain base. But what can I do? No one an idea? Even when I´m flying down the GS I get GPWS alters sometimes :-( Holger
