Tutorial Issue

Featured Replies

I was loading the tutorial and when I got to the point of selecting the runway (8R) at Gatwick into the FMC the tutorial says that it should display on the ND. Mine didn't. I've started from scratch several times to no avail. Everything else seems fine. Any ideas? Ted Belden

May be silly question, but was the ND in " Mapmode" ? Eric

What I couldn't find in the printed manuals is a step by step instruction on how to start up the 737 from a cold dark cockpit. Lucky I know enough about these planes and got it, but besides the dideo in Youtube, there is really nothing - the tutorial doesn't get into this.

I think that's Tutorial 2. This one is how to fly it.

To start from cold and dark you'll need to do the electrical power up supplementary procedure, then follow the normal procedures. Both are FCOM 1.

Yes it was and is. To be sure it actually says "Map" on the ND, right? Ted

Ted,You shouldn't get "map" on the ND when everything is running smoothly. Just based on that, it almost sounds to me like your IRS isn't aligned. Can you post a picture of your panel after you've selected the runway? It might make this a bit easier to figure out.

Id' like to, but I have no clue how to do that. Sorry. And yes I agree that it might be an IRS alignment problem

The problem was that FSX didn't load the aircraft with engines running. It instead loaded with ground power connected. Once I got everything running it went just fine.
