August 8, 201114 yr Hi, Since I intalled 737NGX, ASE Evolution, during the download weather DATA, the side top of the sky flashing, in the same time FSX stutters .... the event ends after the proces of daownload is ended.I never had this problem with other aircrafts (PMDG 747, MD11, LEVEL-D, Feelthree Airbus etc.) During the use PMDG737, to obtain a decent FPS in FSX I have close many services in Windows ...(NOT those that use ASE ... :-))) My sistem is: Windows 7 64bitì7 950 to 3,8 GHZ6 Giga RAM DD3Nvidia Geforce 295 (Set with NVIDIA INSPECTOR as NickN's indications) Fsx.cfg as tips of PMDG can anyone helps me? thanks Lucio System: ASUS PX9X79 , i74820 4GHZ, 16 Giga RAM, Geforce 780 GTX, Win7 64bit Home EditionLucio
August 8, 201114 yr Lucio I use ASE with the NGX and have no problems with it. Looking at your specs I don't see why you would need to close Windows services to get decent frame rates. I run the following AMD 1090T - stock standard no OC16G RAM DDR2W7 64 bitAsus GTX580 as primary card through triple head 2 go DEAsus GTX 465 as secondary card. RUnning the NGX at a place using high end scenery I still get 15 - 20 fps on the ground (say YMML using ORBIX scenery) Cruise I get 30 - 40 fps The thing is that the fps are pretty consistent around the 30 to 40 but they are smooth even when they drop to 15. Your rig should be running things OK. Might check your vid card but that should be able to deliver good graphics. Do you have the latest video drivers installed and did you follow the Introduction document by PMDG? Just my 2.2 cents worth (GST inc) Rob GrantCompass Airlines - Stretch Your Wings Australia
August 8, 201114 yr Hi, You are using ASE in Standard Depiction Mode and the flashing is caused by SimConnect, not this plane or ASE. Please use a different depiction mode in ASE and these flashes will go away.
August 9, 201114 yr Author Hi, You are using ASE in Standard Depiction Mode and the flashing is caused by SimConnect, not this plane or ASE. August 9, 201114 yr Go to options and enable Direct Weather Control! This is normally what people use, when flying airliners! The framerate stutters go away and the weather looks more realistic. All those things are explained in the Active Sky manual. Oliver Donner
August 9, 201114 yr I second what Jim said. I see this when flying in all my planes with ASE running. What I didn't know was that it was because of the weather depiction mode. I'm going to change that after work tonight. Derek RogersPC Specs: Intel i7-4790K 4.6GHz : 16GB RAM : GTX 970 4GB

August 9, 201114 yr Can anyone inform me how to open the weather display gauge for ASE with NGX...I usually press shift + 5?
August 9, 201114 yr Hi, After you installed the NGX, did you re-run the X Gauge Wizard to install the gauge into the NGX? X Gauge does not automatically get installed into new planes when you install them!
August 9, 201114 yr Hi, After you installed the NGX, did you re-run the X Gauge Wizard to install the gauge into the NGX? X Gauge does not automatically get installed into new planes when you install them! Hi Jim, Still ASE is the best weather program for FSX, never had a problem with any PMDG product, even the NGX. I took the advice and changed the depiction mode to Direct Weather Control on my test flight LHBP - LIPZ. It took some loading pauses maybe away and the flight in VC was quite fluent. But remark, when approaching Venezia ( ASE reports there to be winds 050/11), the LIPZ tower put all traffic to rwys 22's because the sims "dum" ATC took the winds to ATIS from my cruising level ( 240/50) ones. So I had to during descent move the depiction mode back to standard which straight away gave 04R for landing, but because sims ATC had already given clearances to dozens of deps and arrs (MTProf) in the wrong way, you can just imagine how it looked like in final :) Petteri PulkkinenEFNU Petteri Pulkkinen EFNU, Finland
August 9, 201114 yr Did you use hit the REFresh AI Traffic Button after you loaded Activesky? Usually if you do that once you won't have any problems with the AI Traffic. Paul Deemer
August 9, 201114 yr Hi Paul! I did the refresh 100% in Budapest as I always do and most certainly also after havin got my clrs. But I have found that ( I use also SuperTrafficBoard for viewing AI trafic) a certain amount of already wrong assigned traffic stays on original sketgh and refreshing helps completely only from moment x ( not sure). August 9, 201114 yr Thanks Roy, and correct, any planes already cleared to land in the FS AI system will not get re-routed. It is too late for them. Also true about DWC Mode and ATC picking up the winds at altitude, nothing we can do about that. Every Depiction Mode has trade-offs that must be made.
