Failure mode requests

Through the "Failures" menu (or otherwise) is it possible to simulate:1. the "IAS Disagree" alert (FCOM 10.7)? 2. an(other) unreliable airspeed condition (FCTM 8.18-8.19; FCOM 10.1)?2. the "Alt Disagree" alert (FCOM 10.2)?3. the "AoA Disagree" alert (FCOM 10.3)?RgdsTim

I would like some sort of acceleration value that can be set to the normal wear model since we cannot put the same amount of hours on the virtual jet vs the real one. 2x or 3x should suffice I think.FRED

+1 Even though I would love to fly the hours it would statistaclly require for an engine out failure, I doubt my real life would allow for that... Mas

Fred, I think this happens already. My next service on my Ryanair airframe is in approx 230 hours. I believe that the real aircraft is a combination of cycles (take-off and landings) and hours. However I have no Idea how many, but would hazard a guess of around 2000 cycles or so which in that cause if you have 4 cycles a day is around 1.36 years. Cheers Tim

I am fine with the MTBF and maintenance option but maybe pmdg should consider to add a more prominent way to inform (new) pilots about failures, e.g. a short text message on the screen if and when a failure occours. might help many pilots who are complaining about brakes not working when they just burnt them. And I am not sure how many of them make it to the active failures section of the fmc to check whether a failures is active. fs passengers has such an option, I used it when I started with that program. nowadays I prefer the realistic approach and not to be informed about active failures.

+1and the 'failure' menu is under the 'aircraft' menu. Can we conclude the 'next service' time depend on the aircraft we are using, I mean the livery tail number...so the livery we choose to fly ? If we use a 'fixed definition file', is the 'next service' time common to all the installed aircrafts/liveries ? Guillaume Charrier
