A suggestion to forum staff re; David "Opa" Marshall

Recommended Posts

I, like everyone else, was saddened to read of the passing of David "Opa" Marshall. His contributions to this hobby were always provided in the most civil and humble manner. It is my loss that I never knew him in person. I would like to propose to the forum staff, that if it is feasible, we pay tribute to "Opa" by making a change to the forum header that currently reads; "Flight Simulator Tips and Tricks", to something that reads like this; "Flight Simulator Tips and Tricks""David "Opa" Marshall memorial" Somewhat like the header for the "MS FSX Forum", and the multiple line construction, or at least something displaying honorable mention of his name. The reason I suggest, "Flight Simulator Tips and Tricks", is because of "Opa's" numerous tips and tricks files that were uploaded, and it just seems fitting to me. Thank you for reading and hopefully considering this tribute to a 'special' flight sim addict. Best regards to all,Mel

I agree with both Mel and David... I know 'tribute' threads and memorials are frowned upon by some at other FS forums, but in this case it's totally deserved. Opa gave the Flight Sim community at large many suggestions and helpful advice, and always with a courteous and friendly reply. It's only fitting that a section of the Forums should be named after him. Alan

I concur with this idea. I think it would be a most fitting tribute to his immense contribution to the flightsim community.
