August 12, 201114 yr Did someone say, "Single Malt?" That's a great idea... i think I will. now there's a drink I certainly enjoy :) You got any favourites Mr Randazzo? The lagavulin is probably my favourite from Islay, but I live near the Tullibardine distillery, and they make some good stuff. My friend and I at some point are going to fly out to Islay and tour the distilleries there :) paul
August 12, 201114 yr Author Captain Randozza: it is part of a gentle fate which means you and I are most unlikely ever to meet. But if such an occasion was ever possible, then a 'single malt' of your choice would be my pleasure. The NGX renders the PMDG 747 very old-fashioned now, even though two years ago it was the industry leader. NOt just the VC or the textures, the flight model just seems too gentle, maybe even dumbed down a bit. I know that you loved the J41 - who doesn't when an aircraft is the one in which you make it into the left seat. It's a great model, but as a plane it is not a favourite at all - the engines are just too complex, noisy, and touchy to manage. So more single malt when the next offerings arrive - as I read it, the Dash-8 followed by the B777. Now invent some really dramatic effects for tail strike on that long beast. The 787 is going to be a fun airplane to simulate, although I'm not too sure about composites over years of hard use, but the new Triple 7s are surprisingly the replacement of choice for the 747 now that controlling costs is so demanding. And a bumper of single malt if sometime in the future you build an Airbus. Not Boeing I know (hold the screams chaps) but the 787 is very convergent on the fly-by-wire logic of the Airbus. And there is not one good airbus on the simulation market. Where did all this start, I can't remember, I think I'll have a Scotch. KInd regards, Ian McPhail
