Brakes not working after landing

Featured Replies

I did a manual landing with Autobrake 2 and spoilers armed. When around 50 kt i set Autobrake to OFF When to a complete halt i wanted to turn off the brakes (via .-key ) but the brakes kept on - i coudnt move the aircraft. What can it be? Should i not turn autobrake off or?

You could have burned your brakes out, especially if you landed fast. You can use the reversers to brake with the engines. Look at the brake indicator in the center panel, and if it is red, I think it means that your brakes are shot - reload the plane. Otherwise try pressing "." a few times, they could e stuck, and/or give the engine a short bit of throttle. Henri

i dont think they're broke, because i tried to add the chocks and then remove them and the brakes was off. But after that i coudnt brake - somehow like my brake-function (on and off) was totally disabled after the autobrake.

I'm having the same problem. It was fine when I initially installed it. I cleaned my system out - fresh install of Windows 7, re-downloaded the 737NGX from PMDG website (after reading the package had been updated to change write permissions etc - I noticed the file sizes were different) Since installing this 'slightly updated' version, whenever I land using autobrakes, my brakes lock on even after I turn autobrakes off. The only way to get the plane moving again is to set parking brake on and off, but even then the brake button on my joystick stops working until I reset the whole flight, Paul

I thougt I remembered something about double tapping the brakes to get them disengaged due to a FSX limitation? I'm thinking this was in the introduction document. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

I had the strange brake issue on my last two flights. Just uninstalled the latest PMDG download (658,446KB zip) and re-installed my original download from the weekend (658,013KB zip) Done a short circuit and all seems to be well again. Perhaps a slight issue with the 'updated' download? Paul

I'm having the same issue intermittently with the *original* download. I have not been able to reproduce it. Sometimes it's upon landing, sometimes its when I'm taxiing out from the gate at the beginning. It's not every flight. Very peculiar.

You are right SKEWR - It is mentioned In the Intro manual (or the tutorial) -Becuase of PMDG programming around FSX deficiences this brake issue is a byproduct. The way to fix it is to tap the brake twice on landing and before you move the AUTOBRAKE switch to OFF
